Don't be fooled by the fact that this site is just off the A1, yes, you can here a feint hum of the traffic in the distance but you soon forget that it is there. The site itself is beautifully kept, both the grounds and the amenities. The welcome is friendly and although we didn't need any major assistance I witnessed others being helped by the friendly staff.
A fifteen minute walk in to Boroughbridge or a very very short drive to Morrisons for supplies. The most delicious Fish and Chips from a mobile unit on certain nights of the week ... perfect.
We chose to visit nearby Knaresborough on this visit (only 8 miles) and spent the whole day there.... a hidden gem that has to be seen.
We shall be happily visit this site again as it is brilliantly placed for visiting a plethora of other sight seeing destinations and deserves better than being simply a stop off on the way to somewhere else.

This was our very first camping trip as family with our 2 and 4 year old. We had a great pitch with lots of space for the kids to run around, they especially loved chasing the ducks. There is a small play area and a games room which will be handy when weather is poor. The shower facilities were excellent but I was a bit disappointed that the family shower room was locked and no-one available to ask to open it on the Sunday morning. We managed well in the communal ones though. Boroughbridge itself is a lovely little village with some nice cafes and a Morrisons supermarket for supplies. We enjoyed a beautiful walk around a huge field of broad beans. Would definitely stay again next time we plan a trip to Yorkshire. Loved the rabbits hopping around and the swifts flying low past our tent as we set up.

Great place, with some very nice walks and bike rides around peaceful country lanes. Easy travelling to major tourist attractions.
Only down side we found was the noise from the dairy close to the camp, the generators/machinery kept us awake.

Site is in a nice location just off the A1 but in cycling distance to the town. Used as a halfway house en-route from Leyburn to York.
Disappointed with some of the pitches as they were not level enough for me and far away from the shower block, so I moved closer, at first it resembled a field full of lumps, if it could be rolled it would be great.
The wardens were great and advised a few places to cycle and eat, just turn right out of the site and it's a few miles away but really nice and quiet and cycled for miles on flat roads.

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to.
The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate.
Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
