Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for walking or visiting nearby York.

Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.

Bordering the campsite and visible from site is the River Ure. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.

There are a number of walking opportunities nearby. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a few circular walks from the site, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river from Roecliffe to Ripon.

The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this site. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the self-catering properties).

Available to buy are stunning holiday caravans and lodges. Visit the Club Holiday Homes website to find out more or call 02477 983801.

Worth Noting

Some all-weather all-service pitches available. There may be restrictions on the availability of pitches and use of awnings due to the possibility of flooding, seek advice from the Holiday Site Manager. Towcars to stay on Site overnight.

Please note some overnight noise may be audible from the local dairy and the A1.

After arriving onsite early we were rather rudely told that under no circumstances will we be booked onto site before 1.00pm. Finally got onto site and settled in and found the facilities clean and tidy apart from family shower having no pressure and rubbish. After 1 night on site we were then told the site is at high risk of flooding and we need to take awning down. There were 4 adults a toddler and a dog so panic started to set in if we do flood what about my van. Went and spoke to owner and asked to be moved from side of river as we were right next to it only to be told that there is no spot despite site being half empty so asked if he could check for another site again to be told I have rang 8 other site and no spot. The attitude was kind of tough luck get on with it. So we decided to leave site and move to another campsite. Was then over charge and getting through to customer services was a nightmare. However they did issue my refund quickly. The staff on this site are unfriendly and have the can't be bothered with attitude.

Nice friendly welcome. Manager showed us to our pitch which was just perfect.

Nice friendly welcome. Manager showed us to our pitch which was just perfect. Level(ish) Well spaced. Long walk to the facilities but they were the best we've seen. Spotless. Grass hadn't been cut when we arrived but that was the only negative so all in all a very enjoyable stay! Recommend the walk into the pretty town if Boroughbridge with some excellent eating and sightseeing. The Crown at Roecliff was a short walk away, very good food and quirky, and is Michelin Fiod Guide recommended... ??

Good for access to Newby Hall, Fountains Abbey and York.

This review is for Boroughbridge

Good for access to Newby Hall, Fountains Abbey and York. If going to York, park at the 'Park and Ride' at Rawcliffe Bar in the designated spaces; no charge to park and cheap, frequent buses especially for the Railway Museum (which has free entry!). There is a Morrisons close to the site with petrol, diesel and LPG too. Boroughbridge itself has a pleasant old town centre, often overlooked. The bus stop, at the entrance to the site, allows trips to Harrogate another town worth seeing. All in all a great site to make as a centre for touring this part of Yorkshire.

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to. The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate. Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
