Top site for walking
Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for walking or visiting nearby York.
Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.
The River Ure borders the campsite and provides somewhere to relax and watch the world float by. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.
There are a number of walking opportunities from the campsite. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a few circular walks from the site, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river from Roecliffe to Ripon.
The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.
Self-catering accommodation is available at this site. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the self-catering properties).
Available to buy are stunning holiday caravans and lodges. Visit the Club Holiday Homes website to find out more or call 02477 983801.
Some all-weather all-service pitches available. There may be restrictions on the availability of pitches and use of awnings due to the possibility of flooding, seek advice from the Holiday Site Manager. Towcars to stay on Site overnight.

we were a little anxious on our arrival as we were a little earlier than expected, but we needn't have worried as we were met with a warm welcome from Christine, we were then given info we needed about the site and then shown to were we could set down , we had a choice of a few stands but we chose a lovely spot near the rivers edge, for all the weather wasn't the best we liked the view and location, just a short walk to boroughbrige village, which had plenty of pubs ,we visited a quaint pub for sunday lunch and it was beautiful, the locals were charming a pleasure to talk to. next day we decided to walk to Ripon via the Roecliffe ramble (which was part of info on campsite), for all it had been raining and ground extremely squelchy, slippery , the walk was truly enjoyable ,adventurous and hilarious as we scrambled over styles through woodland , farmland and along the canal, exhausted and wet we arrived in Ripon ready for a good drink and a meal, which we happily recieved at our best pub ( we frequent anywhere we go ) Whetherspoons ,The Forum. Of course there were numerous places to eat, and plenty of shops to muse around, also places to visit had the weather been better e,g Newby hall, Fountains abbey to name a couple, also very handy for Harrogate and York. which we visited the latter the next day. the only downside to be aware of is that the campsite can get flooded owing to the excess of rainfall , which you are given plenty of warning as we can testify, the warden at the time of our visit was Christine and she was marvellous, she came round early hrs of morning to inform us we would need to vacate campsite owing to flood warning and that we could go to Morrisons car park ( an arrangement between them ) ,we were given info on contacting them for possible refunds on monies paid . we thanked staff for their kindness and said it wouldn't stop us going back as we had enjoyed our stay and were only too sorry it had happened. we wished them well .

Nice location - we pitched right next to the river on a concrete hard standing, with a lovely view of the river and open countryside opposite. An owl kept us occupied after dark each evening with its hoot. It's an easy walk into Boroughbridge or into the village of Roecliffe.
The town is very nice with lots of small shops, cafe's and pubs. The Crown Inn pub in Roecliffe has a very extensive menu and our Sunday roast was excellent.
Their is a limited bus service near the site, but Boroughbridge town centre has a better choice of destinations etc.

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to.
The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate.
Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
