    Top site for walking

Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for walking or visiting nearby York.

Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.

The River Ure borders the campsite and provides somewhere to relax and watch the world float by. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.

There are a number of walking opportunities from site. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a circular walks too, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river and to Ripon.

The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this site. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the self-catering properties).

Available to buy are stunning holiday caravans and lodges. Visit the Club Holiday Homes website to find out more or call 02477 983801.

This review is for Boroughbridge

We stayed at Boroughbridge during april after visiting a rather damp Keswick during our stay there we were contacted by the wardens at Boroughbridge that the grass pitches were unsuitable due to recent heavy rains however they would try and pitch us somewhere when we arrived,We were met by a very nice lady warden and shown to a pitch overlooking the river From our perch you could tell why its prone to flooding the actual site is in a flood plain with banks arround so if the river overflows this is where it goes, there are large concrete hardstands which are to be increased to combat the problem. I personally wouldn't book the all service pitches these seem to be the worst sighted as the are to the left of the entrance so you get all the road noise which is very busy from the dairy traffic and vehicles coming from the static site . Yes you can hear a hum from the refridgeration units but it didn't bother us and traffic noise from the A1,Roecliffe is a 15min walk away and we recommend the Crown lovely meals and Dog friendly ,Borrougbridge is a steady 20min walk .Would we go back yes.

Excellent staff, as always. Selection of pubs/eateries within 15-20 mins walk.

Excellent staff, as always. Selection of pubs/eateries within 15-20 mins walk. Supermarket (& fuel) nearby, and good town shops. Site has some problems with flooding: adjacent river. Grass can be soft. Play area a bit tired due to water damage. As an overnighter it can't be beat. Easy access to Motorway. I would come back for a longer stay, as area has a lot to offer.

We received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival to the site, booking in was quick and trouble free - The site wardens were excellent, all facilities were clean and tidy. We had booked a "Super serviced pitch" which was located just inside the main gate very close to the busy road, unfortunately the noise from the adjacent dairy, and industrial estate was very intrusive especially at night, there is a constant humming from the machinery in the dairy, and constant noisy HGV vehicles passing 24/7 each time a Lorry hurtled past the caravan would shake and we would be woken from our sleep. The super pitches are the most expensive but are the least attractive on the site, I think if you chose a pitch further away from the road you would still experience some noise, but nowhere near as bad as where we were! This review is no reflection on the friendly hard working staff, or the many town and villages nearby, which are all worth visiting. We cut short our stay by one night, so we could go home and get a decent nights sleep

I arrived and the site had been hit by the recent severe flooding.

This review is for Boroughbridge

I arrived and the site had been hit by the recent severe flooding. The only spaces open was the overflow area, next to the busy road. The site manager apologised and said the main field was too wet to go on and even the overflow area had been under about 1.5 metres of water. This area had all been power washed over and everywhere was virtually spotless. Dave had spent a day starting to try get some of the main site open but during that night he had had to get up and retrieve all the equipment he had put out!! More water had overflowed into the main field after the persistent rain. The main site will be quite because it's over a bank but the overflow area is very noisy being next to a busy road. Enjoyed my stay and the stand in manager worked damn hard to ensure things went well for everyone even though his wife had to go into hospital during my stay

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to. The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate. Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
