Overview

Our site a mile from the attractions of Oxford city. Catch a bus from outside the site. City break or countryside adventure, the choice is yours if you camp at our Oxford Club campsite.

Located just a mile outside the centre of Oxford, the campsite is the perfect base for exploring the magnificent city of dreaming spires. Camping in Oxford doesn't get any better than this.

It’s hard to believe this pleasant bolt hole is so close to the city. It's restful ambience makes it ideal to kick back and relax after a day pounding the streets of Oxford. Trees line this well laid out site, pitches are level and a good range of facilities are available.

Walk, cycle or catch the bus (there’s a stop right outside the site) into the city and you’ll find plenty to see and do. Don’t miss the University Museum of Natural History (the most complete remains of any single dodo are here) and the Pitt Rivers and Ashmolean Museums, the latter has 67 galleries to explore. A guided walking tour is the best way to see the University colleges and botanic Garden. There are themed tours too including an Inspector Morse and a Harry Potter Tour. And a punt on the River Cherwell is a must.

The countryside around Oxford has its own delights. Not to be missed is the magnificent Baroque house – Blenheim Palace and its fine parkland in Woodstock. The Oxfordshire Museum is here too and tells the story of Oxfordshire through its galleries and exhibitions. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens is also worth a visit.

This really is the best of all the campsites in Oxford.

The Park and Ride into Oxford is just over the road.

This review is for Oxford

The Park and Ride into Oxford is just over the road. Tesco Express for all your grocery needs is only a 5 minute walk away. The nearest pub, The Duke of Monmouth is within easy walking, good beer and the usual pub food, friendly staff. It is very easy to get into Oxford for sightseeing, we did a free 2 hour guided walk which was very good. All the usual shops in the city centre which is nice and compact. The access to the site is down the side of Go Outdoors which does seem a little odd on arrival,on leaving the car park is very uneven, everything gets a good shaking. This is a busy site but the position for visiting Oxford makes any little inadequacies totally forgiveable.

First time we have been for a number of years but have seen poor reviews of the showers and washbasins on this site on various camping websites. The club should monitor these comments not just look at their own reviews. Whoever inspects this site is in the wrong job. The wardens do an excellent job time for the club to update the facilities.
