Get away from it all at this peaceful, no-frills campsite in the Shropshire countryside.

The peaceful setting of our Ebury Club campsite is the perfect base from which to explore the local countryside, towns and villages of Shropshire.

The area is steeped in history. In fact, pitch up at Ebury Hill and you’ll be camping on a little piece of history – nearly 3,000 years ago the area was an Iron Age hill fort.

Today the site provides a peaceful haven for campers and an abundance of local wildlife including squirrels, badgers, rabbits and birds. The campsite is split over two levels and boasts an attractive fishing lake stocked with carp, perch, roach and tench. And walkers will appreciate the many walks through fields and woods from the site.

Shropshire is steeped in history. To find out about the area’s historic past a trip to Ironbridge Gorge is a must. Blessed with not just a beautiful setting, this is an UNESCO World Heritage List site and a monument to the Industrial revolution. Ten award-winning museums bring the Victorian era to life through its many interactive exhibits and displays.

One of the country’s largest Roman settlements at Wroxeter is another place where you can step back in time or how about a trip on the Severn Valley Railway? Steam-hauled trains run between Bridgenorth and Kidderminster.

Other popular attractions include the RAF Museum at Cosford and Telford with its many shops and leisure options.

Please note, because of restrictions relating to the historical significance of this campsite, it has no toilet or showers (other than a toilet for backpackers only, see Worth Noting), so you will need suitable facilities in your unit.

Ebury is beautiful, we have been here many times and have always enjoyed it but oh dear what has happened? Where is everyone? Never have we seen it so empty! The site itself hasn't changed a bit, still is and always will be outstanding but I fear the new pricing has put everyone off and sadly those loyal members have probably found elsewhere to go now. It has certainly made us look to other sites which is why this was our first visit here this year whereas before we would have come here more. Our children used to love it here, making friends and having good old fashioned fun but with no one to do that with they don't want to go anymore. We too missed chatting with fellow members that we used to see here all the time. The happiness has gone from Ebury and our weekend away left us feeling quite depressed instead of refreshed.

This site is just bliss, we were on a grass pitch with our van on the top level, which I would recommend rather than being on the hardstanding. We were there for 7 nights which landed over Easter weekend and got very busy towards the weekend as to be expected. We hadn't been to this site before and solely went off the reviews and was not disappointed, The site was exceptionally clean and considering it's a dog freindly site which we did'nt have a dog, there was'nt any problems i.e dog mess. Expected to use own facilities on van as this was stated in the description as a no frills site by which I was amazed......it's definitely worthy of a better term. Did a great walk (2-3hrs) direct from the site to Haughmond abbey. We will definitely be coming back absolutely love it here and especially the added bonus of the mobile fish and chip van on the Saturday which was reasonably priced and recommended.

Great wardens this year providing a warm and friendly welcome.

Great wardens this year providing a warm and friendly welcome. Glad to see they are improving the woodland walk area as most of that had been allowed to grow over during the past couple of years; it is a great place to stroll round. We are also glad to see the 'Please keep your dogs on a lead' signs; it means we don't worry as much about our Son playing out. The site is well kept and has 3 different pitching areas giving you the opportunity to pitch in the trees or out on the open grass. Supermarkets within a few miles and there is a 'Park and Ride' service near Tesco taking you right into Shrewsbury. 2.50 for a group ticket allowing up to 5 people; well worth a trip. We cannot wait to return.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we can't wait to come back.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we can't wait to come back. The site was spotless and the lack of facilities is a brilliant feature as it makes the place very peaceful. We love this site and it is easily one of the nicest sites we have stayed at. Perfect for a relaxing break doing nothing. We enjoyed watching the rabbits from our caravan window. For those wanting somewhere to explore, Shrewsbury town centre is not far away and is nice with lots of places to eat. I can highly recommend the local Pizza Express and especially their new Vegan pizza. The staff at Ebury Hill are great, very friendly and helpful. We will be back soon...
