    Top site for beaches

Look out to sea from our campsite on this Somerset hillside.

Our Minehead Club campsite lies just outside the stunning Exmoor National Park, close to the beaches of the Exmoor Heritage Coast and a mile-and-a-half from the Minehead, Somerset’s largest seaside resort.

Not only does this campsite enjoy a prime coastal location in a peaceful setting, its views over-looking the Bristol channel, woodland and the town are second to none. A spacious site, Minehead has 60 pitches including some serviced pitches and good central site facilities.

There are lovely walks from the site including a lovely wooded walk into Minehead centre. Minehead is also the starting point for the South West Coast Path, a long-distance trail that follows the coast to Poole. The town is also the terminus of the West Somerset Steam Railway, which travels through 20 miles of stunning coastal and countryside scenery.

South of the campsite, Wimbleball Reservoir offers sailing, canoeing and wind surfing – launch your own craft or hire from the lake’s activity centre. Anglers have been known to catch rainbow trout here. You can fish from the banks or hire a boat. There is nine-mile walking and cycling track around the lake too.

To find out more about Exmoor National Park, there’s a visitor centre at Dunster. The medieval town is also home to a castle and a working water mill.

Access and SatNav Advice

Although access to the Site from Minehead town centre (as shown on map) is very steep and twisting, we do not advise any other route as alternative lane is too narrow. Please Do Not Use SatNav please follow map directions ONLY.

We visited this site once again in late June and stayed for 10 days.

We visited this site once again in late June and stayed for 10 days. We were impressed by further improvements to the grounds which have made the fantastic panoramic sea view and surrounding valleys more accessible. Once again we enjoyed the considerable natural beauty and wildlife on the door step. The energetic, cheerful and helpful manager Keith contributed to making the experience memorable a great site to visit. Remember to take tent pegs suitable for the hard ground!

The location is perfect is ideal if you enjoy walking or cycling.

The location is perfect is ideal if you enjoy walking or cycling. The wardens are very friendly and helpful. There is small shop on site which carries a few essentials. Some of the pitches are level and some are not. The views are brilliant and you are literally on Exmoor so loads of walking and cycling to do. The site is very quiet and the bathroom facillities are good also. Be warned the site is on top of a very steep hill so if you need to go into Minehead (40mins walk away) be prepared for an uphill walk all the way back (shortcut through the woods behind). All in all though its a lovely site and highly recommended.

Easy walk into Minehead but harder getting back up the hill.

Easy walk into Minehead but harder getting back up the hill. The views are great but it is a sloping site so be prepared for that. Well worth a visit and Minehead is a lovely town. The railway is fantastic and a trip on the steam train is a must. We will definitely return.

Keith and John provided the warmest welcome ever.

This review is for Minehead

Keith and John provided the warmest welcome ever. I have stayed at many Adult only 5 star award winning sites and despite the toilets and showers in need of some serious updating here, I intend to return. The friendliness of the staff views and peaceful location far outways the shower and toilet issues.. The facilities are spotless for the most part and if they are not, it is down to the messy individuals staying on the site who seem to think it's acceptable to allow someone else to clean up after them! Just lazy and dirty. Luckily they are few and far between but Keith and John are quick to resolve these minor issues ASAP without quibble or question. They are a nice mix of tent and motor homes on various sizes pitches that seem extremely generous in size with or without hook up.. So in brief.. If you wants a quiet well maintained site in a peaceful location that offers a warm welcome and stunning views this is the place to be!! I am so impressed.
