    Top site for beaches

Near the popular Victorian seaside resort.

Whether you’re travelling to or from Cornwall or are holidaying in Somerset our Weston Super Mare Club campsite is a great place for a holiday.

This 90 pitch campsite offers a mix of level and sloped pitches many of which enjoy views over the rolling Somerset countryside. The site has a good range of facilities including a mother and baby room, washing up facilities, washing machines and a dog walking area.

The campsite is located just a few miles from the popular seaside resort of the same name. If you like sandy beaches, donkey rides, seaside piers and a bracing stroll along the promenade Weston won’t disappoint. There’s also SeaQuariun, the North Somerset Museum and Helicopter Museum to explore as well as the Playhouse Theatre and Winter Gardens.

Away from the coast, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Wells, Bristol, Bath and the Mendip and Quantock Hills all have their own charm and make an enjoyable day out.

About 2 weeks before arriving, as we booked very early, i was called to be told that there was a building site very nearby, and it could get noisy throughout the day, after being assured that there would be no problems at night, i was satisfied and thankful for the heads up. This was not true, all throughout the night, all myself, Wife and child could hear was machinery which was not what i was told!!! i didn't bother complaining as staff were hard to find. The facilities were clean but very basic, if you like to wash clothes while caravanning away, this is not the site for you, stuff can get a bit dirty from the beach and sea in weston. Staff did leave some info on the whereabouts of a launderette near the site. We did have a 5 year old with us, this site is not really for children as it has no little park or anything, just a field which is ok for bigger kids. All the hardstanding pitches are at the bottom of a slope, which is a chore to visit the facilities at the top of the slop. As you drive up to the site, there is a road which has the silliest and pointless set of speed bumps which make the entrance so much harder to get to, Also, The site has a wooden gate, which is a pain to keep getting out to open, back in to drive through, then back out to close, it is the 21st century, let's have an electric entrance. Apart from that, The site itself is clean, quite well maintained. There is a new pub opened just up the road called the Landing Light, which is very nice for a family lunch or dinner, the food is very nice and worth a visit or 2 whilst here. Driving into Weston S M is easy and takes between 5 - 10 mins depending on traffic (i recommend heading toward the south beach for parking on the beach itself). Not the worst site I've ever stayed on as it is a nice quiet little site, but i may make a return in about 20-30 years time..... Without Children.

We chose this site as it wasn't too far away and we wanted to "test out" our new campervan and awning, packed with two adults, two 12 year olds and two dogs - we didn't really have high hopes of the site itself and just hoped to find something reasonable. What a lovely surprise it was to find such a friendly site manager, and such a clean and comfortable site, set in such wonderful surroundings. Lovely clean shower block, with plenty of hot water and a free hair dryer, alongside the usual toilet and dishwashing facilities - all immaculately clean. Being on the edge of Weston, it's also ideal for families who want to enjoy the attractions of a British seaside resort on their own terms and not spend all their time cheek by jowl with other holiday makers, fish and chips shops, penny arcades, Ferris wheels and the like. Further, if the more sedate delights of Victorian Clevedon appeals - and that certainly is a fantastic place to visit - this site is a mere 20 minutes away, almost as near as the centre of Weston is. We will definitely be staying here again, with or without the children dogs and awning. Recommended!

This review is for Weston-super-Mare

This was our second visit to this site , and Im sorry to say that there were very few changes , infact the only change we noticed was different site managers from what we can remember. Our check in was longer than any other site weve been to , even though I booked it over the phone with the caravan club ,( who had all our details ,and information (and excepted our booking with no problems)) we still had to produce our membership cards (fair enough) but they also wanted proof that my wife was over 65, the club had already sanctioned the discount with the booking, The site itself is spotless along with the shower / toilet block , however the site is on a slope , the only level pitches are down the bottom of the field , but these are furthest from the toilet/shower block, and are sheltered by trees , we were approx 3/4 the way down the field and on a gradient , a gradient that much, that when the caravan was leveled out , the front end had large blocks under the legs , and the back end was just enough off the ground to get the Thin end (handle end) of our waste master under the outlet. if we had been sited any further up the field , I dont think we would have been able to level the van without the back-end touching the ground ? or would have been very close to the ground, thus preventing us using the waste outlet. The reception which has a small shop included, is open, when and if ,, dont rely on the times advertised in the leaflet , the shop is very sparse to say the least , we used it for ice-creams , however there is a Morrisons a 5 minute drive away. The shower / toilet block is clean , the shower cubicles are tiny , I left my clothes hanging on the hooks opposite the shower cubicles on the outside , I have a back problem, and found it very difficult to dress within the cubicle , my wife said the ladies were exactly the same , she also said that all through our stay , 3 of the ladies toilet cubicles were not in use, Would we return >> No sorry .

not much for families wanting to be entertained on site, which makes this a very quiet peaceful site. Weston only 5 min bus ride away, perfect for days out, and no parking hassles. 10-15 minute walk to the coach house pub in locking for a meal or drink makes a nice evening out. wardens always busy, but never too busy to help.
