Top site for play area
Relax in the Suffolk countryside
Visitors to Polstead Club campsite can expect to find a thoughtfully laid out campsite, maintained to a high standard. The pitches are generously sized, some are screened by hedges and trees other pitches are in small clusters giving a more secluded feel.
The modern toilet and shower facilities, together with a superb washing up area are centrally located. The site shop is stocked with essentials and younger campers are treated to a small play area.
Its rural location on the edge of a conservation area ensures visitors to our Polstead campsite in Suffolk have plenty to do during their stay. The campsite takes its name from a pretty village just a mile away, which features a large pond separated from the village green by a steep hill. There is an excellent network of paths around the village, some taking in the area’s ancient woodland and county wildlife sites.
The campsite is surrounded by quiet country lanes, ideal for exploration by bike. The Suffolk villages of Kersey, Lavenham – with its stunning guildhall and church - and Boxford are less than ten miles from site.
Constable country, including Flatford Mill and Dedham, is within driving distance, as is Long Melford – home to a number of antique shops and the location for TV’s Lovejoy.

We booked this site as the description on the club site states 'top for play area'. We stayed with 2 x 9 years olds. Unfortunately, the play area is not enough for children over the age of 5 and we were told that absolutely no ball games were allowed throughout the whole site - even the play area. This was quite a disappointment to our children as we were then needing to find somewhere to go for amusement. We did find a nice park a mile's walk away however dogs were not allowed there so we were faced with another problem. There are 2 pubs nearby and both were nice and accept dogs - one inside and one outside. The site does seem to charge little 'extras' here and there. Wifi available at a donation - papers delivered for an extra 10p per paper - fish and chips delivered for 6 per person. We chose not to use these facilities because although 10p isn't much, if you are feeding a family of 6 then 36 for fish and chips seems quite expensive when we could just drive out and buy it for much less. The site was very well kept and clean. We could not fault the site itself aside from the dog walk which was only about 20 meters in length but there is a dog waste bin which was great and we were not charged extra for the dog to stay. There is a substantial amount of road noise if you are staying in the tent field. Maybe this is not a problem if you are staying in a touring van? We would not visit again however I feel that if you were a visitor in a caravan/motor home and did not have children with you then you would find this site very nice to stay at.

Stayed for Half term school holiday. Was miserable weather but that didn't stop us from
having a great time. Plenty of walks around the campsite. Nice walk to pubs.
Was a nice change getting woken up from the cockerel and his wives outside our tent. They wander around
Will definitely will return.
