Relax in the Suffolk countryside

Visitors to Polstead Club campsite can expect to find a thoughtfully laid out campsite, maintained to a high standard. The pitches are generously sized, some are screened by hedges and trees other pitches are in small clusters giving a more secluded feel.

The modern toilet and shower facilities, together with a superb washing up area are centrally located. The site shop is stocked with essentials and younger campers are treated to a small play area.

Its rural location on the edge of a conservation area ensures visitors to our Polstead campsite in Suffolk have plenty to do during their stay. The campsite takes its name from a pretty village just a mile away, which features a large pond separated from the village green by a steep hill. There is an excellent network of paths around the village, some taking in the area’s ancient woodland and county wildlife sites.

The campsite is surrounded by quiet country lanes, ideal for exploration by bike. The Suffolk villages of Kersey, Lavenham – with its stunning guildhall and church - and Boxford are less than ten miles from site.

Constable country, including Flatford Mill and Dedham, is within driving distance, as is Long Melford – home to a number of antique shops and the location for TV’s Lovejoy.

Chose this site as a stopover on our way home to Germany via Harwich. Made to feel so welcome and so helpful we were in love with this site in an instant! We will make the best of the time we have to explore on our ebikes but will be back for more next year.

Lovely little site with very friendly owner / managers.

This review is for Polstead

Lovely little site with very friendly owner / managers. Very clean and tidy, quiet and great facilities. Some stunning walks in the area and the village of Polstead is beautiful. The only constructive feedback we would give is to improve the lighting around the footpaths leading to the shower block as it's a little difficult to negotiate without a torch. First campsite we've stayed which we would happily visit again.

We could not have had a warmer welcome, as Karen and Greg are a lovely couple, ideally suited as wardens of this busy but peaceful site. Nothing is too much trouble, with a smile. And not forgetting Nuala and Mick who looked after the site at the weekend. This couple also are so lovely, cheerful and helpful. Although seemingly quite small the sute is spread over several secluded areas, so is infact quite a size. Pitches are adequately sized. The facilities are immaculately clean, centrally located and more than adequate. Wi fi is FREE (unbelievable!!) and washing machine/ tumble dryer use is payable at Reception (3/2). There are 2 dog walks and loads of off site walking close by. We tried the Cock Inn for lunch which was lovely. Hadleigh, 4 miles away is a lovely town with many interesting shops and a large Morrisons. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Polstead.

Extremely impressed by the friendliness received from Karen and Greg, who maintain the site...

Extremely impressed by the friendliness received from Karen and Greg, who maintain the site beautifully and are very helpful in ensuring that their visitors feel very welcome. Also impressed by the re-cycling facilities on site. We enjoyed the picturesque area and the walking routes that were provided. Polstead Community Shop was very welcoming, as were the two nearby pubs (the Cock Inn and the Brewer's Arms) who both provide delicious meals. We received an equally warm welcome at Polstead church on Sunday morning (10.00am service). We look forward to returning to this place frequently as there is much to explore. Our drive to Kersey was worthwhile - what a beautiful village and the pub looks very inviting. Also we came across St James' Chapel in Lindsey which is maintained by English Heritage. Morrisons in Hadleigh also deserves a mention! Most of all, though, our thanks to Karen and Greg for providing such a lovely campsite.
