Relax in the Suffolk countryside

Visitors to Polstead Club campsite can expect to find a thoughtfully laid out campsite, maintained to a high standard. The pitches are generously sized, some are screened by hedges and trees other pitches are in small clusters giving a more secluded feel.

The modern toilet and shower facilities, together with a superb washing up area are centrally located. The site shop is stocked with essentials and younger campers are treated to a small play area.

Its rural location on the edge of a conservation area ensures visitors to our Polstead campsite in Suffolk have plenty to do during their stay. The campsite takes its name from a pretty village just a mile away, which features a large pond separated from the village green by a steep hill. There is an excellent network of paths around the village, some taking in the area’s ancient woodland and county wildlife sites.

The campsite is surrounded by quiet country lanes, ideal for exploration by bike. The Suffolk villages of Kersey, Lavenham – with its stunning guildhall and church - and Boxford are less than ten miles from site.

Constable country, including Flatford Mill and Dedham, is within driving distance, as is Long Melford – home to a number of antique shops and the location for TV’s Lovejoy.

We used the site to attend a family event in Colchester and to spend time retracing our old haunts. Lots of roadworks & diversions, but would still rather stay at peaceful Polstead, than the handier campsite in Colchester & once we sussed out the route, it was no problem.

One of, if not my wife's favourite club site. We go there regularly when we want a quiet break. We also love Suffolk so it's ideally situated with plenty of walks nearby which the dog and I love, particularly the one through the woods up the road leading us to Polstead village. As we have a motorhome the site is ideally situated to catch the bus just up the road in either direction which means we can get to most places by public transport. Lavenham and Long Melford are nearby and another regular of ours is to walk to Boxford or the lovely village of Kersey.

This was our first stay on a Club site and we really enjoyed it.

This review is for Polstead

This was our first stay on a Club site and we really enjoyed it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was good to meet other campers and share experiences. The site is dog friendly and there are many walks from the site. On the whole it is a very friendly site. There are some good pubs close by, not that we are big pub goers, and we had a nice lunch in the Cock Inn at Polstead. The walk to Polstead through Dollops Wood was really nice and the village with its large pond is well worth the effort. We had a drive out to Flatford and then we walked to Cattaway Marsh and back. The cafe serves good food and drinks and the RSPB garden and wildlife centre are worth visiting to find out what is in the local area. There is a fruit farm close by that sells its produce beside the road and it looked very good. The plums apparently were very tasty. Next time we visit Polstead we will venture out further and go on some different walks. It is a lovely area of the country that we have missed on our past travels.
