Chertsey is on the banks of the Thames, just a 30-minute train ride from London.

This lovely riverside campsite is an oasis in the suburbs. It has a really rural feel yet is just a 30-minute train ride to London from the Weybridge station. It’s also perfectly placed for visiting some of the country’s best-loved theme parks (Lego Land, Thorpe Park and Chessington), as well as the world-famous Kew, Wisely and Savill gardens. Hampton Court and Chelsea flower shows are also within easy reach from here.

This popular site is on the banks of the River Thames. Bag yourself a riverside pitch and watch the many pleasure craft sail by. Walkers will enjoy the Thames Path Nature Trail, a towpath leading to Staines.

The sheltered site provides great facilities for campers, including a games room with TV and table tennis table.

Worth Noting

Tow Cars must remain on site overnight due to the possibility of flooding. The site is outside the Congestion Charge and Low Emission Zones. Fishing is available 16 June-15 March. Super Service pitches have TV aerial sockets. The Weybridge station is located 4 Miles from the campsite. Those with motorhomes who wish to use this station are advised to use a taxi when possible.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora or fauna. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available.

Eat Local

The farm shop in Lyne (approx. 10 min drive) sells a range of home-grown fruit and vegetables as wellas goose eggs, fresh bread, chutney, jams and more.

The campsite itself was flat and the caravan and mobile home spaces pretty standard with their rectangle hard standing and grass bits. However we were in the tent section where things weren't quite so good. To begin with the tent field is surrounded by really high sting nettles that got me loads of times when moving things from the car and adjusting tent lines etc. it wouldn't take much to kill off the nettles and leave just the tree border and would be far more pleasant. There is a play park as well however its not really got much in it and there were at least 10 kids fighting over two swings at one stage. They need more things for them to play on so they aren't all in the same place at the same time as that just leads to arguing. My final issue was that the M25 was really really loud. I expect this would be fine if you were in a more solid structure but in a tent it meant I slept very badly. I would recommend ear plugs if you are in a tent. Above are my issues with the place however on the other hand, the facilities were clean and the staff friendly. If you are there on a weekend the breakfasts and fish and chips from the van are pretty good too. I imagine I would have had a very pleasant stay there if i'd been in a caravan or mobile home.

Just returned from this site and have only got excellent things to say.

Just returned from this site and have only got excellent things to say. Arrived and was greeted by friendly helpful staff and after booking in was shown to my pitch. Lovely spacious site with plenty of trees and birds including Parakeets! Very clean facilities with the added bonus of an on site snack van serving delicious, well priced food for if your feeling lazy. Only 10 minutes drive from Weybridge Station which has free parking on the weekend and then a 30 minute train ride to Waterloo and the Southbank attractions. Please just be aware that it is on a flight path so there are a lot of planes overhead but you soon get used to them and the positives of this site out way this minor niggle. We will be back!!!!

Beautiful site on the banks of the river Thames. Lots of birds - even saw a kingfisher! All of the staff were very friendly especially Mark Clark (one of the club wardens) and Tracy and Emma at lovely jubblies. We ate twice form the burger van. Tracy and Emma were really lovely to us and our children. The food was great and good value too. We will come again!
