Overview

A tranquil, traditional campsite within the M25 motorway, which has been in the Club's care for more than 90 years.

Our pretty Walton Thames Club campsite ticks all the boxes for campers wishing to experience the hustle and bustle of the capital but camp in the more relaxed setting of the countryside. You would hardly know this leafy green oasis is located within London’s orbital M25 motorway.

The campsite is well laid out and surprisingly tranquil and spacious. There’s an excellent dog walk on site and numerous opportunities for dogs and walkers to stretch their legs off site, including a pleasant riverside walk into Hersham. Look out for the site’s resident parakeets.

Horse riding, golf, Nordic walking and llama trekking are all activities that can be enjoyed within the vicinity of the campsite.

Train stations at nearby Walton on Thames and Hersham make London and its attractions very easily accessible. Family days out not in the capital can be enjoyed at Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland theme parks. The popular Hampton Court and Claremont Landscape Garden are close by.

Very helpful checking in and with my troublesome hose.

Very helpful checking in and with my troublesome hose. Convenient for Hampton Court Flower Show. Hersham Station is a brisk 20 minute walk away but gets you to Waterloo in 30 mins. There is a Tescos on the way. There are public foot paths around in a semi country area and suitable for dogs. It is situated down a country lane and it would be sensible not to walk from the station in the dark if you are on your own. The neighbouring caravan owner kindly near gave me a lift to the station at 07.00!

A great site! We stayed here whilst visiting the flower show at Hampton Court.....a 20 minute drive away. We had rung earlier in the week to say we would be arriving very late so may have to cancel but the helpful wardens said no problem, they would reserve us a space on the car park and move us onto our pitch first thing in the morning. We arrived after 10 pm but luckily were able to go straight to our pitch. One of the wardens walked to the pitch with us and was so chatty and welcoming despite the time. A lovely peaceful site with spacious pitches and very friendly wardens.Thoroughly reccomend.

The site is quiet and provides a rural retreat and the only reminder of the city around are the aircraft passing overhead. The local buses provide easy connection into London but there are many historic and sporting venues within a few miles of the site. The staff were really helpful. We were there during a very busy period but nothing phased them or impacted their friendly approach.
