Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace, in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site.

Top site. Top notch staff.

Top site. Top notch staff. If only they could manage the weather too ! The planned 3 night break became a disaster when my wife broke her back in a cycling accident on the afternoon of our second day. I stayed on in motor-home and visited my wife in Perth infirmary. Staff offered friendly words and were very helpful about the uncertainty of the duration of my stay. We did get home to Glasgow - with my wife in a back brace and expected to make a recovery in 12 weeks or so. The final contact from the site team , or so I thought, was a well-wishing phone-call when I called to say I no longer needed a pitch. However a day later we received a bouquet and further encouraging words on a card. Speechless - thank you.

Stayed here for two nights for the first and last time, Was made welcome upon arrival and the staff were more than helpful pointing out where my tent needed to be within an inch of. No hot water for the duration of the stay due to an apparent boiler fault, The facilities were however very clean but this is more than likely because no one could use them especially as they were closed from 10.30 to 12.00 daily. I struggle to see why the site choose these times as they don't need to do other tasks such as empty bins as there is only one set in the main car park. Overall if your over 60, own a caravan and are partially deaf this could be the site for you as at least you won't hear the Oyster Catcher birds chasing each other around all through the night. If your a family group stay well clear as even airflow balls can offend.

Arrived for Rewind weekend on a grass only pitch.

This review is for Scone

Arrived for Rewind weekend on a grass only pitch. However another camper had an extension which he lent us to top up the battery which was pulled out by staff member. We were told this was forbidden which was fair enough however when another neighbour offered their hook up to us for a couple of hours to charge the battery this staff member in particular (jobsworth) pulled the cable back out and told us that it was hook up abuse.....seriously! And he's would be checking our memberships! After speaking to fellow campers he had been throwing his weight about unnecessarily with them as well. We did come across other helpful members of staff but this one in particular was out to ruin anyone's day!
