Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace, in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site.

The site was full but even so I always saw a tidy site and in particular the toilet block was always very clean and clearly was receiving frequent oversight.Iuse Scone site at least once or twice a year and find it achieves a good standard and a good centre for Perth and for touring while leaving the caravan on pitch. Thank you.

It was absolutely ridiculous to close the toilet block in its entirety from 10.

It was absolutely ridiculous to close the toilet block in its entirety from 10.30 am till 12 noon without any alternative every day, I am not an early riser and had to wait till 12 noon to wash and shower and then to ask guests to mop up the shower units themselves. The noise coming from the Racecourse was almost unbearable due to some music festival called Vamos even the staff were not informed until 2 days before the event it was going ahead.

Originally booked a 5 night stay, this was reduced to 3 nights because of a music festival next door at Perth Racecourse! No mention of the event on the website, nor when checking in on Wednesday. The festival ran for 3 nights, 1 was bad enough, music until 1am, the bass was vibrating the caravan and awning, and people making a noise until 5am, hence NO SLEEP! We packed up the next morning and left, obtained a refund for 2 nights, beware when booking that there are events planned this summer which will affect this site!!!
