Overview

A tranquil campsite retreat in the Midlands.

If you want a get away from it all break but not be too far from civilization our Clent Hills Club campsite is a great option. Its location in a peaceful valley, less than a mile from the beautiful Clent Hills, makes this a truly relaxing site, yet the city of Birmingham is less than 15 miles away with Halesowen and Kidderminster even closer.

This spacious site enjoys a peaceful ambience and pleasant views across the surrounding countryside. The Clent Hills, less than a mile from the campsite, are a popular haunt for walkers with miles of footpaths and stunning panoramic views of the Cotswolds, Welsh Borders and Shropshire Hills. The National Trust’s programme of guided walks and suggested routes will help you find your way around this rural haven. The 440 acres of woodland and heathland are popular with birdwatchers too.

For shopping, attractions and cultural distractions Birmingham offers the famous Bullring shopping centre, Birmingham Museum and Art gallery the Sea Life Centre and more. Other attractions within driving distance include the Black Country Living Museum, Cadbury World and West Midlands Safari Park.

We have just returned home after a lovely stay on this superbly kept site. It is several years since we stayed there and had forgotten just how pleasant and restful this site is. We will definitely be returning much sooner after this visit. The Holiday site managers work hard to keep the site pristine and are very helpful and friendly. The only reason for 4 stars on facilities is because there is no motorhome point on this site which makes it more difficult to drain waste water if in a motorhome/camper. Taking a waste water container would solve this though. There are many interesting places to visit in the area and two pubs and a local shop in walking distance from the site.

Last time I visited, the driveway into the site was ruined with potholes. However, that has been addressed and fixed. It's now a smooth drive that won't cause any damage to your vehicle. The managers, Jo and Ron were very friendly and helpful and gave me a nice little secluded spot. The toilet/washing block was, as always, spotless and clean. And they now have a new, automated, vehicle barrier - very posh. As always, the Clent Hills site is a peaceful little spot hidden away from the main roads. It's not too far away, so you can easily access the A456 to Kidderminster or Birmingham and the M5 is just a short drive away. As for towns, Halesowen is the nearest one and if you head towards Dudley, you have 'MerryHill' - a large indoor shopping mall. If you need 'Go Outdoors', the nearest is in Kidderminster, 15 minutes away. I love coming here. It's close to my home so I can come and test out new gear I buy and Clent Hills has some fantastic walking and cycling routes just around the corner from the site. Oh, as well as local pubs with food on offer. Thanks, Ron and Jo!
