A lovely campsite located on a canal with a number of attractions nearby.

Our Devizes Club campsite is a lovely quiet and secluded retreat by the side of the Avon and Kennet Canal in the heart of Wiltshire. The surrounding countryside, ideal for walkers and cyclists, is where you’ll find some of the UK’s most significant prehistoric sites including the iconic Stonehenge and Avebury Stone circle.

This well-kept, tree-lined campsite provides 90 pitches, some lined by hedging to give a more private feel. In addition to the amenity blocks, campers can expect a children’s play area and playing field and a large dog field.

You can walk or cycle into Devizes from the campsite via the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks or catch a bus from the stop a five minute walk from site. Buses also operate to Melksham, Bath and Bristol from here.

This bustling historic town has weekly general and collectors' markets and a regular farmers' market. Wadworth's Brewery is here. See its famous shire horses make deliveries in town. Sample the ales at the visitor centre where tours of the brewery and stables can be booked. Also in the town is the Wiltshire Heritage Museum where you'll find Britain’s best Bronze Age archaeology collections. The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Museum alongside the canal is where you’ll discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway.

Further afield Longleat and its 900 acres of parkland is a great family day out.

Had a lovely 8 day break at Devizes very comfortable, had a perfect pitch very clean and well kept everyone always had smile on their face and that makes part of your holiday. The canal runs along the back of the sight, lovely walking, people fishing and some just sitting and watching the world go by. The beautiful village of Lacock is only about a 5 mile drive. Lacock Abbey is a must if you like National Trust Properties, various places in the village to eat or maybe just a coffee something for us all. Marlborough, Bath, both not very far to drive, lovely scenery on the way to Marlborough and a super place to visit. This was our first visit to this site although we know the area very, but it will not be our last very central if you want to spend time in the beautiful Wiltshire country side.

I was disappointed with the condition of the hard standing pitch I was given at Devizes.

I was disappointed with the condition of the hard standing pitch I was given at Devizes. I choose these pitches to avoid taking wet and mud into my caravan but my pitch was very muddy with standing water and I struggled to keep my caravan clean with these conditions in my awning. I mentioned it to a warden to no avail.

This site is ideally placed for a great variety of activities and interests There are the 29 locks at Cean Hill, the stone circles and manor at Avebury. Bath is less than on hour away on the Bus, Bradford on Avon, Stonehenge and numerous National Trust properties the list is almost endless. Needless to say we will be revisiting this site again as a 4 night stay was not long enough to see and do all that there is.

A warm welcome from the site staff on arrival.

A warm welcome from the site staff on arrival. The motor home service point was easy accessed to fill with water and discharge waste. A member of staff showed us to our pitch which I thought was a nice touch. The amenities block was clean, the washing up area and the chemical disposal point are of a high standard but the shower block would benefit from an upgrade as the shower trays and grouting to the tiles are looking tired. For motor home owners who do not want to take their vehicles off site there is a good bus service to Bath and Devises. The local pub a few steps from the site offers a good range off home cooked food.A good pint of wad worth beer is also served. I would like conclude by saying that this site is well worth a visit .
