Relax in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside at our campsite near the canal.

Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite. Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

Have just had a lovely, long weekend break at Wolverley site, tried to book it again for the bank holiday but it's full, shame. The welcome was very friendly and Tim even pitched us where there would be better tv reception as he had noticed the sat dome as we arrived ( didn't like to tell him that we inherited the dome and that we're not that bothered about TV). Our young labrador loved the field next to the dog walk but especially liked the miles of canal tow path not far from the gate at the bottom of the site. Luckily, refreshment is not far either, there is a pub (serving food) and a small tea room either side of the lock, great for watching the narrow boats. Previous reviews have complained that the shower facilities need an upgrade. I personally prefer to be able to control the rate, temperature and duration of the shower in clean surroundings, more than up to the minute decor with uncontrollable scoldings of two minute intervals. I think the games room with tables and chairs was a good idea especially for wet days with children. There is a small play area at the top of the site and the children seem to love it. We will be regulars, I'm sure,as the site is only 45mins from home but feels a world away.

The age concession thing meant we only stayed 3 nights as it works out expensive, had we been able to stay longer we could have filled the time easily. If you want to get a bus pay attention to the leaflet from reception. It really is a request stop there is no bus stop just wait by the pub car park entrance at 20 mins past the hour. We rode our bikes to Kinver (Turn right onto the canal) but even walking it is a lovely walk along the canal and a lovely village. Go the other way on the towpath and you will come to Sainsbury's right beside the canal and then Kidderminster. We also caught the bus from the Lock Inn car park to Stourport via Kidderminster and I got a day rover ticket for only 3. Excellent value and Stourport is a lovely place.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Best hot powerful showers I have come across in any C&CC site.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Best hot powerful showers I have come across in any C&CC site. Far superior to those miserable push button dribblers that seem to proliferate on most sites. It's an easy walk into Kiddie along the canal (2.5 miles) and then perhaps a trip on the Severn Valley Railway, on a glorious steam train. Will definitely be back. Oh, and for those who are not familiar with gongoozlers, it means - a person who stands and stares at barges passing through locks.
