Relax in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside at our campsite near the canal.

Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite. Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

Ian was able to offer us a choice of pitches - which is something not all sites do (i.e. even when there is actually spare pitch availability.) The facilities, though maybe a bit dated now, are very well cleaned indeed. As far as the users went, this was one of those extremely rare sites where everyone cleaned out the shower after themselves, and washed their hands after having been to the toilet. That really helps tremendously with the overall experience. Sadly, all too often, this experience is not the case. In this day and age, there really is no need, nor excuse, for any lack of personal hygienic responsibility. The site is obviously very well maintained, as evidenced by the high standards maintained throughout the site. Worth noting for high and long rear overhang towing Motorhomes; there are some lowish tree branches, and the ramp at the exit gate caused the end of our car trailer to scrape the ground. The ale and food at both local pubs is very good. The pub in the village is especially friendly. On leaving, one of the locals thanked us for visiting. Where else do you get that? Superb. One point well worth noting is that the main road outside the site, although a 'B' road is, nonetheless, a really busy and fast road. Please keep kids well away, and do take extra care when driving from the site. Many thanks to Jackie and Ian for their help, advice and hard work. It is all very much appreciated.

Chose this site as it wasn't too far from Wightwick Manor NT property.

Chose this site as it wasn't too far from Wightwick Manor NT property. Pleasantly surprised at the rural location with two pubs within close walking distance for evening meals. Both pubs also had live entertainment on the two nights we were there ( Monday and Tuesday). As the weather forecast was poor we didn't bring our normal bikes, but thought we would walk down the nearby towpath to Kidderminster and visit the Carpet Museum. Excellent choice as we spent two fascinating hours there which included demonstrations of old carpet making looms. The campsite was well kept and the showers and toilets were spotless and warm - we shall visit again.

Had a very pleasent 2 night stay in late September, good weather helped.Site is close to two pubs for food and drink, there is a nice flat walk down the canal to Kidderminster, about 2.5 miles.Next visit will take bikes as we could ride further to Stourport or the other direction to Kinver. Two large car boots on the Sunday within 8 miles - bonus!Looking forward to a second visit next year. One tip, if you are under canvas ask for a pitch away from the road as it is quite busy and noisey.
