Relax in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside at our campsite near the canal.

Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite. Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

Despite arriving in monsoon-like conditions all the staff were welcoming and very helpful.

Despite arriving in monsoon-like conditions all the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The site is well-drained meaning that the grass pitches were not waterlogged or muddy. Fortunately the weather improved meaning that we could take advantage of the location - ideal with a large playing field adjacent and relaxing walks South along the canal into Kidderminster or North through peaceful countryside. The two local pubs are good and are just minutes away. The Severn Valley Railway was a great way to spend an afternoon - make sure to sit on the right of the train as you leave Kidderminster to see the elephants in the safari park! All in all a really well-placed site with good facilities; our ten year old described it as having 'very high quality toilets' :-) We will definitely return.

We had a friendly welcome on arrival and were given a choice of pitches which we were shown to. The grass pitch was fairly flat-just needing a slight bit of help from the ramps as we worry our fridge is a little temperamental. This is a lovely green site with plenty of trees around. As mentioned in other reviews the amenities block was a bit dated but always very clean and warm and when we came to wash up-plenty of hot water. The rear gate exited round the corner from the Lock Inn which has a nice canal frontage, very hospitable staff and a reasonably priced menu. We ate here on the Friday night and had a very good meal. Must mention the other pub in Wolverley as it isnt signposted from the main road and we only found it while having a wander into the village. The Queens Head doesnt open for as long hours as the Lock but has great live music and is a very friendly place to spend the evening. Crossing the road opposite the Lock pub we walked along the canal past Kidderminster (approx 30 mins) to Stourport on Severn (approx 2 hours) which is where the canal meets the river Severn. This is a pleasant easy walk and Stourport is an interesting town for a wander. We would definitely return to this site as it has has plenty to offer in the area and two good pubs in close walking distance and was very well looked after.

All staff were friendly, giving helpful advice every time we spoke to them.

All staff were friendly, giving helpful advice every time we spoke to them. Location was brilliant with the canal and lock gates a spit away from camp site. The Lock public house was where we spent a lot of time. The canal walk into Kidderminster was peaceful and only took 35 minutes to get there. The village of Waverley was quaint . Lovely coffee shop the other bank side of the canal deserves a mention. All told the stay was a resounding success. I highly recommend the Wolverley

We were switched from Clent to Wolverley because of the weather. Lovely site, well laid out.

We were switched from Clent to Wolverley because of the weather. Lovely site, well laid out. We did have a bit of a trek to the shower block but that was where we parked, also road noise, but there were places on the site where this would have been fine. Lovely walks along the canal and into Wolverley village, nice tea shop! Nice woodland walk up behind the church. There was a motocross event going on down the road and a little Vespa bike meet in the pub car park. We will certainly return
