About the Tarland area

You are close to the Cairngorms National Park - host to a variety of wildlife, including otters, deer and osprey.

The B4119 gives you a glimpse of the view that stopped Queen Victoria in her tracks. This beautiful vista was said to be a major factor in the Royal purchase of Balmoral.

The Tomnaverie Stone Circle shows the history behind this pretty area. Believed to be 4000 years old, the stone was used to help farmers to track the seasons.

Tarland itself is host to a number of shows and events throughout the year, including traditional games.
