Last year I used a Robens Buzzard, part of the company’s Lite range. That tent is now discontinued but has been superseded by the Buzzard UL, or UltraLite, weighing a full kilo less than its namesake. I’ve now been using this lighter version of the tent for several months. Robens has managed to shave 50 per cent off the tent’s original weight, in the process creating a super-light two-person expedition tent that should appeal to off-roaders and single-night adventurers. The tent is now made of 10D nylon inside and out, instead of the Buzzard’s 40D rip-stop flysheet and 30D polyester inner. The floor is 20D rip-stop nylon, compared with the 2015 tent’s 75D.
