FAQs for Regional Council
Below you will find answers to Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Regional Elections.
Regional Elections are to elect Club Members onto Region Councils.
Region Councils oversee the operation of the District Associations within their Region.
No. All the work they do for the Club is done on a voluntary basis.
1) It supports the structure of the Club
2) By supporting the electoral process it reinforces the Region Council and tells the candidates that they are accountable to the membership
3) It shows that you care about the Club
4) It allows you the choice of the candidates and who you wish to become a Regional Councillor
1) You will be missing out on a member privilege
2) By not voting you let others speak for you

So long as we hold a valid email address for you, you will receive two emails from Mi-Voice (an external agency whom we have appointed to manage the ballot process on our behalf). The first will contain a unique link to the voting site for each of the members on that membership number. If relevant you will also be sent a reminder to vote. If we do not hold an email address for you, you can still vote by going to www.mi-vote.com/ccc where you will need to enter your Membership Number, Title, Initials and Surname as printed on your card. Please note that the Region voting closes at 12 noon on the Wednesday before the Region AGM.
a) It is a very simple operation and takes little time to do.
b) You can’t spoil your ballot paper so your vote counts.
It doesn’t arrive late - some members posted their ballot late, missed the deadline and were not counted.
c) It will greatly reduce the Club's carbon footprint and will stop thousands of pieces of paper being needlessly printed.
Following on from the success of electronic (online) National Council voting, we have decided to extend the process to cover Regional Elections. Online voting is so much easier and quicker than postal voting and since its introduction has encouraged more members to take part in the election process.
Yes, if you are not on email or do not wish to vote online, you can still ring up to request a postal vote.
There is no need to register to vote this year. So long as your email contact details held by the Club are up to date, and subject to your Region requiring an election, you will receive an email from Mi-Voice, the company we have appointed to run the election this year. This email will contain a unique link to the voting site for each eligible member on a membership number. We will also send a reminder halfway through to anyone who has not as yet voted. You do however need to make sure that the email contact details that we hold for you at the Club are correct. To update your email address please visit the ”Amend your details” section in the Members area. If you don’t receive these emails you can still vote online by visiting www.mi-vote.com/ccc at any time during your Region Ballot open period.
Absolutely. The Club have asked Mi-Voice to independently run the election, who specialise in the delivery of secure, multi-channel electronic voting solutions. Among their existing clients are County Councils, City Councils, trade unions, universities, and banks.
Not a problem. Each member is treated as an individual. All the information is verified against the Club’s membership data and both members in a household will have the choice of a postal or an online vote.
The Club holds one main email address for each membership. It is this address that will be used and each email will contain a unique link for each of the eligible members associated with that membership.
Each member in a household is treated as an individual and has a choice of voting or not.
The election data is held for six months by Mi-Voice and then destroyed. Both the Club and Mi-Voice work to the legislation set out under the Data Protection Act and no information will be given to a third party. The information you give Mi-Voice is verified against Club membership data and will be used only for the Regional Council elections. It will not be used to update Club membership data. If you want to update Club membership data please go to the Membership Area on the Club’s website.
Online voting opens on Wednesday 29th March 2017 and we will be sending emails to members eligible to vote. Should you be eligible to vote and wish to place a postal vote, you can call 0845 241 41 49 requesting a ballot paper anytime between 16 March and noon on the 19 April 2017.
We will send out up to two emails per membership. The first being the ballot email with links to the ballot site. There will also be a reminder email – which will only be sent to members who have not yet voted.
Even if you requested a postal ballot you can still vote online at any point during the election period by visiting: www.mi-vote.com/ccc.
If you wish to vote by post, you'll have to request a paper ballot. We will be carrying out a cross-check to ensure that no member can have both a postal vote and an online vote.
E-Mails will be sent to the main address that the Club have on file for your membership number. If you wish to use a different email address please visit the Members area of the website to update your details. However you do not need to have an email address registered with the Club in order to vote online. Simply visit www.mi-vote.com/ccc to vote.
