Camping Club Youth Rallies

sport netball 2If your kids have joined – or are thinking of joining – CCY, chances are it’s because they love camping. Well, so do we! And the good news is that there are events throughout the year where kids can camp, take part in competitions and challenges and meet friends new and old.

Each Region or DA will organise numerous events, some that are only for CCY and some for everyone, with a dedicated youth area. You can find out what events are happening near you in the Out & About section of the Club magazine (the orange pages).

National Youth Rally

Every year, young people from all over the country get together to celebrate the joys of camping at the National Youth Rally. It’s hosted by a different Region each year, and there’s always lots going on!

With visits to the Giant's Causeway and a Game of Thrones filming location, youth members had a blast at the 2017 rally. Hosted by Northern Ireland, there were also the usual sporting tournaments (football, netball and volleyball) and evening discos - where the theme of Myths and Legends was expressed in fancy dress.

The Austin Trophy provided entertainment for all, with competitions such as the novelty relay race (hopping, three-legged and backwards running) and the gluttons' race (bob for apples and pick up a sweet from a bowl of flour with your teeth), amongst many more!

The 2018 Youth Rally will be hosted by South West Region at Turnpike Showground, Shaftesbury, Dorset on the first weekend in July. Entitled Youth Fest, there'll be a chance to chill out and enjoy a festival vibe, as well as the usual sporting competitions. Don’t miss out – let your Youth Leader know your kids would like to join in all the fun and games!  If they’re not already members, there’s plenty of time to join, so what are you waiting for?

International Youth Rally

Your kids will also have the chance to really stretch their wings and attend next year's International Youth Rally.  The 2018 rally will be taking place in Croatia on 29 March- 2 April (Easter weekend).

To be able to attend the International Youth Rally, your kids will need to have passed their National Youth Test.  There's plenty of time, so get them signed up today and they'll be trotting off on their next big adventure before you know it!

Feed meNational Feast of Lanterns

The Club's national rally, the National Feast Of Lanterns (NFOL), offers an area for CCY members to camp away from their parents.  Taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, there'll be events and entertainment galore, including the traditional Mardi Gras parade on Saturday afternoon.  The 2017 NFOL takes place at Arley Hall, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 6NA.

The theme is "Science Fiction", so there's plenty of opportunity for your kids to let their imaginations run riot as they come up with costumes for the Mardi Gras!
