About Eat Local
We are blessed with a fantastic food culture in Britain. Up and down the country, great tasting food, produced with care for our environment, is being produced by devoted farmers, passionate chefs, small-scale growers and creative artisans.
The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Eat Local campaign is about celebrating and supporting these people and businesses, and by doing so, protecting all the things we love as campers.
Buying locally helps rural communities to thrive, keeps the good pubs open, the market places bustling, and with it the customs and traditions alive. Buy British apples and you’ll be making sure that we’ll see the apple orchards continue to blossom, visit the farm shops on the free-range or sustainable farms and you’ll be protecting the landscapes and the hedgerows full of wildlife and showing you care about animal welfare.
In return you’ll have fun, get off the beaten-track, meet new and interesting people, learn more about the landscape you camp in, and give your tastebuds a treat.
This website gives you region-by-region information on where you can buy good food or eat out around our Club Sites. You’ll have access to Certificated Sites that sell their own produce on-site too.
And there is an extensive recipes page full of inspiring ideas for great camping meals, and added info on the latest cooking kit as well as competitions and news about food events and festivals.
In addition to our new Eat Local website, we've teamed up with Calor and Outwell to bring you the latest edition of our Eat Local booklet, packed with inspiring local produce information. Download your copy here.
Join us in our Eat Local campaign and make good local food part of your camping adventure.
