Festivals & Heritage

Behind the impressive pink, ashlar façade you will discover the real surprise of Dalemain. Its astonishing mix of Georgian, Tudor, and Mediaeval styles will enchant you. Explore the grand public rooms including the breathtaking Chinese Room with its original, eighteenth-century, hand-painted wallpaper. The Tudor parts of the house contain winding passages, quaint stairways and unexpected rooms, including the Fretwork Room with its magnificent, sixteenth-century plaster ceiling and oak panelling. The Mediaeval Hall is now the tearoom and restaurant where you can enjoy fresh coffee, home-made lunches and afternoon teas, beside the huge log fire. The 5 acre plantsman's garden boasts richly planted herbaceous borders with an intriguing and unusual combination of flowers.
