Festivals & Heritage

A fine Georgian mansion house, with magnificent views over riverside garden terraces, features stunning collections of porcelain. The 364-hectare (900-acre) classical landscape is peppered with unusual monuments, and the estate remains a working concern brought to life by costumed living history characters.

Visitors can explore the Victorian servants’ quarters, Georgian farm, dairy & mill and a restored walled garden, as well as through the luxurious state rooms of the mansion. On the first floor is an annual photography exhibition which presents work of the late photographer and fifth Earl of Lichfield, Patrick Lichfield.

Afterwards you can enjoy sumptuous, historically inspired foods like Shugborough sausage, Staffordshire game pie and a delicious selection of homemade cakes. Many dishes are prepared using fresh ingredients produced on the estate itself.
