Festivals & Heritage

Severn Valley Railway travels through idyllic scenery of the Severn Valley, stopping at beautifully preserved historic stations from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster. Dine on sumptuous food in the observation saloon, and travel the UK in style on a steam engine.

Visit the Engine House and see an amazing collection of steam locomotives, along with railway themed exhibitions, a well-stocked gift shop and the 'Flag & Whistle Food Stop.' See WD 2-10-0 Austerity No. 600 ‘Gordon,’ or The Lady Armaghdale and other historic steam and diesel engines.

Or perhaps you should treat yourself to the Footplate Experience, and learn to drive a large standard gauge railway locomotive on one of the country’s premier preserved railways! There is also a diesel course that gives you the chance to drive some of the unique historic diesel locomotives also preserved here.
