Visiting Chatsworth House

Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, Chatsworth House is one of England’s most recognisable landmarks.

Home to the Cavendish family since the 1550s, the house is famed for its diverse art and breath-taking landscapes.

In the 18th century, the iconic landscape covering over 1000 acres was designed by world-renowned landscape designer Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.

Dogs are permitted in the garden and parkland, but must be kept on a lead due to free-ranging livestock.

Younger visitors can explore the farmyard, where they will be shown animal handling and milking demonstrations. There is also a woodland adventure playground that includes a rope park, trampoline and slides.

On the estate, you can find two restaurants, two cafes and a farm shop selling products produced and prepared on the site.
