If you've already read the earlier reviews, please ignore the negative ones regarding the showers! Sure, they are not at Teversal standard, but they are spotless, with plenty of hot water at all times. What more could you want? We've certainly experienced a lot worse!
Regarding the "sleeping policemen" on the approach road, yes, they do exist, but if one takes it steady & your caravan setup is as it should be, they present no problems at all.
The site staff could not be bettered in their attitude & helpfullness. Nothing appears to be too much trouble for them.
All in all, a very pleasant few days spent on a site which we're sure will improve even more if the staff stay there.

Excellent site with very friendly managers/ess , very helpful and always pleasant. The site is spotlessly clean and well kept , Its easy to access whether towing or not , however there are 5 speed bumps within a short distance on entry, no problem as long as you jockey wheel is right up and you take your time. The shop is very limited to what it stocks ,Don't rely on it for your everyday needs and camping needs. however Morrisons is just a 5 minute drive away. The shower/toilet block that every body says is dated, is not as bad as I expected ,I wouldnt call it dated at all , it spotlessly clean and very adequate , the one thing that lets it down is the size of the shower cubicles , they are about 30in wide X 45Inch deep , (thats if a wall tile is 6 inch ? cubicles are 51/2 tiles by 9 tiles) this could be overcome by removing 2 of the 7 wash hand basins and extending the 3 shower cubicles , which would then give enough room for maybe a shower seat ? all in all very satisfied and will be returning. Theres a comprehensive range of shops and stores within a 10 minute drive, along with Weston sea front. Some pitches are on a slope , so some Blocks for unit legs maybe needed in some cases ? but maybe they are supplied ? Lovely place to stay for a quiet relaxing break, with the benefit of being just a few miles from the beach and town. Definitely one for our Recommended book . :-)

Very good access from M5, but we found speed humps at entrance of site rather high. Site wardens Rob and Wendy were very friendly and Rob most helpful in siting us on the pitch. Both worked extremely hard during our six day stay, and it was nice to see Kevin arrive in order for them to have a well earnt day off! The site is very handy for Weston town and the surrounding areas. Although the facilities on site are dated they were always clean and well kept. We would not hesitate to return.

Toilet block clean and tidy if a bit dated. Supermarket and Weston Super Mare town and beach a short drive away.

We went off to this site with trepedition,as we booked then read the reviews, we arrived to be met by the site managers who were friendly and helpfull. the site is off the main road fairly easy to get to but we have a motorhome may be towing may be a bit more care needed, once there it opened out to a lovlely site grass cut to perfection, showers and toilets very clean. The bus stop is a good 15 minute walk to get into weston and from there you can get a bus to several different places plus the new pier with lots of things to do for all ages, and of course the beach with the donkey rides for the season, and the helicopter museum is within walking distance from the site for fit walkers. altogether a very pleasant stay,in lovely surroundings, we will defenitly go back. These are new site managers and have worked really hard to bring this site up to club standard good luck to them.

I would suggest that since the new wardens arrived on site earlier this year, some of the earlier reviews may now be out of date.
I found the site easy to locate and access with no issues concerning speed bumps and barriers. The site was clean and tidy at the time of my stay. The facilities are dated but again, during my visit everything worked and was spotlessly clean which for a campsite is all I require. Neither was I traumatised by constant grass-cutting - although maybe I just timed it right!
A short drive to the supermarkets so come prepared. Plenty of dog walking adjacent and lots to do in the area including the fascinating helicopter museum 15 minutes by foot.

Visited the site for a look around before booking, which we will now do, after joining. Found the wardens (lovely couple) knee deep in gravel, re-doing hard stands, nice flat pitches. A little site with far reaching views. Although the toilet blocks are aged, they are spotless. Everything you would expect on site and a little shop with all the basics and gas. Quick and easy access to the coast which is only a mile. Will see you in the summer.

i would not recomend this site very sloping pitches, the showers are ridiculous they are very small and they need a good clean, every tap on the sinks gushes out all over the place so you cannot even wash your face brush teeth etc, there is a bus outside of the site a bit of a walk, and some happy campers kept us awake playing music till 2 am,though it says no noise after ten o clock, need improvement especially in showers and toilet block, over night stop only would be ok.

Wardens were absolutetly great on a lousy Weekend (weatherwise) not what can be said about the indoor Showers, very poor inadequate for families not big enough & very slippy when wet. We were a party of 4 vans, with 4 children, quite a few more children on site but no amenities for them. Speed humps on entrance drive to site very bad, but are there to slow you down for the residential sites. One bad safety point, cars and caravans being towed in between caravans already sited near the road way , potentialy dangerous for playing children and adults alike,if site was full. No designated exit off the grass pitches. The site is Quiet, and within easy distance of Weston Super Mare.
Unfortunately I am very Surprised this is classed as a Camping & Caravaning Club Site

Yet another visit to the Weston site - 2 nights this time. The wardens running things now are helpful, welcoming and friendly. 10 out of 10 on this score.
However, nothing else has changed and the Club should seriously consider spending some money improving the facilities here. Although always clean, the shower blocks are dated and the showers too small. More hardstandings and EHUs are needed. Drainage and/or levelling of pitches and reducing the size of the enormous speed bumps on the entrance road also need to be addressed.
No doubt we'll be using this site as an overnight stop again shortly - hopefully the Club will have sorted out some of these issues in the meantime.

I would not recomend this site to anybody except as a stopover for a night.
The accesse road has several sleeping police stations that dont seem to serve any perpose except to danage your jockey wheel. The site is on a slope and I mean a slope, cvertainly the most severe I have seen on any caravan site.
The facilities are tired and old. The hard standing are small and probably laid down in the 1960s .
The Wardens do their best but you cant make a silk purse out of a pigs trotter! Personally I dont think this site should be in the network.
Talk on site was that the club only leased the site from the adjoining private site. I have been a member for 21 years and certainly will not return to this place.

This was our second visit to the site, visited last time about 5 years ago, nothing much has really changed in that time. We would class the site as sterile as there wasn't really anything there, but it is good if you want a quiet break. The entrance to the site was via a road around the back of Weston airfield with speed tables that were too high and too close together for longer units. Admittedly it was the final weekend of the season for the site but a few flower tubs would make it a little bit more welcoming and presentable. The showers/toilets were still slippery when wet and unsafe and you could wash your feet not only from your own shower but also from the adjacent showers when they were also in use. I noted that part of the toilet block had not been cleaned when I arrived and when I left two days later it was still there. I informed the manager on leaving who stated that it hadn't been noticed. I would say that walls and floors should be cleaned on a daily basis!
There was a map of Weston and bus routes to and from if you wanted to use them but there were no bus timetables available.

We have used this site many times as an overnight stop, as it's so handy from the M5 (about 10 mins). We have also stayed for longer periods as it is a quiet site but not too far to travel to Weston-Super-Mare itself.
Our only gripe would be the speed bumps at the entrance to the site - far too big and completely unnecessary really. The showers/toilets could do with being refurbished but were always nice and clean.
We were treated to a free display by one of the helicopters from next door at the museum...very entertaining - thank you.

A quiet, impecably maintained, open site unfortunately marred by very dated toilet blocks, something the Club could do well to re-furbish. The site does slope steeply and is perhaps not ideal for the less mobile. Hard standings are level but it is noticeable that levelling can be difficult for some members in the grass area.
We have just retrieved our van from a seasonal pitch. The site was chosen to meet our particular location need with easy access to family and coast.
Our observation was that the site is very good for those with dogs, less so for those with children as there is little or no safe playing space. The speed tables on the access lane are indeed fierce, we found we were fine with our 'normal' car and van if speed was minimal. Motorway access is excellent.
Little is within walking distance. There are buses from the end of the lane and supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. A local garage much closer for basics. Overall shopping is excellent. The sea front continues to be re-furbished, commercialised in the centre it is much quieter at each end.
We enjoyed the humour and efficiency of the site managers and their deputyWe were very well cared for by the site managers and their deputy, leaving the van between visits was not a worry. Thank you to Steve, Chris and Pat for making our season a very relaxed and enjoyable one.

Site is easy to access from the M5 however the speed tables at the entrance to the site whilst effective are too severe. Lower slung units easily grounded.
I would describe the site as adequate having a fairly steep sloping field making levelling a larger unit quite tricky, nice hardstandings and pitches at the lower end of the field. Grass and surroundings well kept,as were the bins and water points. The toilet block was a disappointment and needs a refurbishment. The shower cubicles were terrible it was impossible to keep anything dry!! The whole floor was soaking wet from the splashing coming from the next cubicle. Water also splashed out into the area outside the cubicle. On a positive note the toilet block was spotlessly clean.
We found the staff more than a little sarcastic at times and to be honest less than enthusiastic.
Our visit served a purpose for us but I very much doubt we will return.

Then siten is very convenient for the M5. The access road runs through what appears to be waste land and the alongside a commercial residential and touring site. It is a shame the toilet blocks cannot be upgraded by the Club as in comparison to others they are a little outdated but always spotlessly clean. The site itself has open views but is also sheltered, although it can be quite windy. The site management team are friendly and helpful, we noticed them welcoming people to the site early and late in the day with the same smile we saw at lunch time. Help was offered with pitching, rubbish bins emptied appropriately and the grass immaculately kep. The site might be a little restrictive for those with children. Good access into Weston for the beach and supermarkets close to hand. As has been commented before there is little within walking distanve but buses are at the end of the road nso not really an issue for those not wishing to use their own transport. Overall a site suited for those happy to be independent and be in a rural location with good access to motorway links. Any discontent with this site could perhaps be alleviated if the description in the Club handbook was more accurate and expectations managed by the Club.

This is the second Camping and Caravanning Club site I have stayed at, the first being Moreton in Dorset. Following Moreton, which was superb, Weston was a disappointment. I had assumed that the Camping and Caravanning Club "approval" meant that a site would achieve a certain standard, but it appears I was wrong. The issues with this site were:
1) Parent and child room situated inside the ladies facilities which obviously means Dad cannot go in there.
2) Parent and child room consisted of a normal toilet cubicle with a large sink in it. The sink was damaged which meant there were rough areas in it. You certainly could not bath a baby in it. No changing table, just an area of cold tiled work top. In fact, it should not really have been called a Mother and baby room at all.
3) Shower cubicles were tiny, which made getting removing trousers without soaking them on the previous person's water was somewhat challenging.
4) Water point near our tent was broken. There did not seem to be any expectation that this would be fixed.
5) Very uninspiring location, next to an industrial estate with views of a crane.
6) Nothing withing walking distance except the industrial estate and, an admitedly very entertaining, helicopter museum.
7) "Recreation hall" (as described on this website) was a room with a few chairs in it and some old toys.
8) Very expensive for what it is. We paid £56 for two nights for 2 adults and 2 small boys. It was an extra £10 per night because we apparently have a "jumbo tent". Definitely not worth the money and I will be watching these kind of extra charges carefully in future.

The toilets and showers were very clean and warm. we were right by the drinking water and waste disposal and hook up very handy It was a quiet site we were the only family with kids and I did feel we had to be careful not to disturb anyone with normal kids chatter. The drive from the motorway is very quick and the drive to Weston was easy but there are real bad jams at busy times. Parking at the sea was £7.00 for the day but was right next to the beach or on it if you wished. The beaches are good but the sea if you see it was a sewer. The one down point was on the way out there are a series of speed bumps on a hill we managed fine on the way in up the hill but the caravan caught each one on the way out even though I was going slowly.

Decided one day to go to the seaside for a few days. Hadn't pre-booked so hoped there would be space when got there. If not would have found elsewhere. Got there about 2:30pm only to find reception not open until 4:30pm. Sign said to choose own space and pay later. Sounded fine by me. Decided after long journey to use toilets facilities before putting tent up, only to find you needed a code to be able to get into them, which of course I didn't have as hadn't paid yet. Couldn't seem to find any staff to ask so turned around and found another site to go to. Site was tiny, about 6-8 caravans all bunched together in the middle.
