The seemingly endless coastline is blessed with miles and miles of beautiful sandy beaches where the crashing Atlantic waves make it France’s number one surfing destination.
Picturesque fishing villages hug bays and inlets and stylish sea-side resorts such as La Rochelle and Biarritz and are perfect for exploring at your leisure.
Venture inland and you’ll find yourself in cool pine forests and meandering through historic villages and towns. Here is the Landes National Park which is just over 300 sq km of beautiful and wild countryside that is populated by lakes and rivers, making it ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding and canoeing.
Towards the north, bustling Bordeaux is the perfect destination for shopping and dining and to the south, Bayonne with its narrow streets and lively summer festivals is the spiritual heart of the French Basque country.
Drive a few miles further south and you’ll reach the Pyrénées National Park which takes you up into an invigorating world of pure fresh air, rushing mountain streams and towering peaks.
We have ten Club selected sites in this magnificent region for you to choose from.

We start at the Ile d’Oléron. This island (you reach it across a toll-free bridge) has quiet beaches, a network of cycle paths and quaint villages to explore. You can take a boat trip to the famous Fort Boyard or simply relax on the peaceful, countryside site of Domaine d’Oléron, which has a great range of facilities and a handy supermarket just two miles away.
Set 13 miles inland from the busy sea-side resorts (and therefore, promising a truly relaxing break), Le Valerick site has a range of large, grassy pitches that are set in a quiet clearing amongst woodland and farmland.
Cȏte de Beauté is another quiet, smaller and more traditional site. It is set in pine woods and just a short walk away from an excellent sandy beach. Cycle hire is part of the range of facilities available here.
The small, immaculate site at La Cigale is just a short drive away from the beach and within walking distance of Arès town centre. This site is perfect for nature lovers who want to get away from it all with a stay at a peaceful, traditional campsite.
Le Saint Martin site attracts families from all over Europe. It’s situated right by an extensive beach and is part of the busy little holiday village of Moliets-Plage. Here you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Cycling and golf are popular here and onsite facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
Les Acacias is a great alternative to the larger, busier sites in South-West France. This small and friendly site is wonderfully quiet even in high season. It’s just a mile away from superb beaches, and the towns of Bayonne and Dax are also close to hand.
The spacious site at Lou P’tit Poun offers peace and relaxation in beautiful surroundings. It has great pool facilities and the Basque country’s bustling beaches and resorts are close to hand. The range of other facilities here include a swimming pool, paddling pool and a bar & restaurant.
In a great location, with the beaches of Biarritz close to hand (they are just 500 yards away); the site at Ilbarritz has a new outdoor pool with water slides. A wide range of other on site facilities and entertainment are available and the village of Bidart is just one mile away.
The friendly site at Larrouleta is just two miles from the beach and it is ideally placed for exploring the Basque region. There’s also a swimming pool and lake swimming at this well equipped site.
As the name suggests, the Airotel Pyrénées site takes you into the foothills of the famous mountains. In a truly superb location, this site has a great range of modern facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath.
Set in the heart of the Basque country, Col d’Ibardin. provides a great spot for enjoying all the amenities of a quality campsite whilst only being a short distance from the beach. The site organises walks into the nearby forests and mountains and for fantastic views of the Pyrenees and the coast, why not take the train on the rack railway from Ascain to the top of La Rhune mountain – the highest peak in the Basque country.
Dordogne and Lot
With rolling green hills, tranquil woodland and valleys that plunge down to meandering rivers, the Dordogne and Lot regions are arguably the most beautiful and charming in France.
Here you will find an array of cycle paths, hiking trails and rivers and lakes, which make the region perfect for those who love outdoor activities such as cycling, walking, canoeing and kayaking.
History, from the prehistoric through to the modern age is all here. Choose from world famous, stone-age caves, enchanting castles from the middle ages (locals will tell you there are 1,001 of them here) and wonderfully maintained romantic chateaux. No matter which period in time you’d like to travel back to, these regions have it all.
Culturally, you’re really in the heart of France and you’ll find a laid back approach to life and a warm welcome at the many towns and villages dotted throughout the region.
Dordogne and Lot are also perfect destinations for foodies and, at local bars and restaurants (plus, at an array of regional festivals throughout the year) you’ll experience memorable wines and delightful local dishes.

You’re guaranteed a warm welcome at Le Vézère Périgord. This peaceful, woodland site is just 300 yards from the river Vézére with its fishing, canoeing and river beach. Also close by, there are prehistoric caves to explore and onsite, the wide range of facilities include a swimming pool, waterslide and paddling pool, shop and bar & restaurant.
The high quality Soleil Plage site is in a stunning Dordogne setting. Here you’ll find towering cliffs and meandering rivers with a range of excellent facilities including a great swimming pool complex and many family activities to join in with. Members can also enjoy a rally here in May.
A very warm welcome awaits you at Domaine des Mathevies. A lovely site with swimming pool, cosy bar and fantastic terrace where you can enjoy views over the Dordogne valley. During the high season barbecue evenings are organised along with a weekly campfire evening. Canoe trips and pony rides can also be arranged, whilst cycle rides and walks from the site offer lots of chances to explore the area.
With stunning views over the valley and down to the river, the beautiful hilltop site Le Cro Magnon is in a truly memorable setting. Facilities here include indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a range of activity options including cycle hire.
Nestled in rolling countryside, Le Cabri is a lovely, small, British-owned site, ideal for couples and families wanting a relaxing holiday and a genuine taste of rural France. The medieval village of Duras with shops, restaurants, bars and twice weekly market is just a half a mile stroll away.
The adult only site at Château de Lacomté is a great base from which to explore the surrounding Lot region. Set in beautiful woodland, a large swimming pool is just one of the many high quality facilities available here.
The charming hilltop site at La Paille Basse is in a truly idyllic setting. A busy but relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal holiday destination for all ages. It has an excellent range of quality facilities including an impressive swimming pool with water slides and there’s also a pet farm for the younger children.
The friendly and welcoming site at Moulin de Campech is popular with the British and with its homely, picturesque setting and high quality range of facilities; it is easy to see why. There’s a fishing lake and a swimming pool here and a range of social activities are organised including weekly quizzes and barbecues.
Very well placed for exploring the Lot region, the site at Le Soulhol is set in lush green surroundings with the town of St. Céré just a short walk away. A good quality swimming pool and a range of other premium facilities make this is a great holiday destination. Members can also enjoy a rally here in May and June.
