Tour highlights
Beginning in San Marino and ending in Ancona, Italy the tour takes members to some of Greece’s finest archaeological highlights whilst still allowing for time to soak up some late summer sun.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at San Marino campsite and enjoy a welcome drink and meal on site with the tour escorts.

Day 2
The next day is at leisure – enjoy a trip into San Marino by taking the bus directly from the campsite.

Day 3
Depart San Marino and travel to Ancona (75 miles) to board the ferry. The ferry is currently scheduled to depart at 14.00 and sails overnight to Patras, Greece.

Day 4
Arrive in Patras in the afternoon. Travel a short distance to the campsite (7 miles).

Day 5
Travel to Olympia (65 miles), birthplace of the Olympic Games and home of Zeus' sacred place. Enjoy a welcome meal on site.

Day 6
Day excursion to Olympia and the Temple of Zeus with a local guide. Find out about the history of the Gods of ancient Greece.

Day 7
A day at leisure to relax on site or perhaps you may wish to venture back to Olympia for more time to explore?

Day 8
Travel to Mystras, the southernmost point on the tour where you will find the ruins of libraries, Byzantine churches and palaces (122 miles).

Day 9
A day at leisure. Take the chance to visit Mystras and the excavations. Enjoy a group meal on site in the evening.

Day 10
Today there is a coach excursion with a guide to Monemvassia, known as the Greek Gibraltar and Gythio, famous for its delicious seafood and pastel coloured buildings.

Day 11
Travel to Tolo passing through ancient Asini (84 miles).

Day 12
A boat trip to the Island of Hydra to enjoy the ports, restaurants, shops, markets and galleries, depending on the sailing schedule there may also be a chance to stop at the island of Spetses and find out about the history of the first Laskarina Bouboulina, a nineteenth century female Navy Admiral.

Day 13
A day at leisure to relax on the beach soaking up the late summer sun, or you could explore the local towns.

Coach excursion with a guide to Mycenae to discover the ancient ruins and the stunning Epidaurus Amphitheatre. There will be free time for you to wander in the old town at Nafplio, one of Greece’s prettiest towns.

Day 15
Travel to Athens (88 miles). Classical Athens was a powerful city-state. A centre for Philosophy, home of Plato’s Academy and Aristotle’s Lyceum.

Day 16
Enjoy a full day guided tour of Athens, includes the Acropolis, Piraeus, Plaka and Parthenon with lunch in an Athens restaurant.

Day 17
Enjoy a day at leisure, take the time to relax on site or catch the bus from outside the site to see more of Athens. There will be a group meal on site in the evening.

Day 18
Travel to Delphi (106 miles) the spiritual home of Classical Greece, home of the oracle and a major place of worship to the god Apollo.

Day 19
A coach excursion into Delphi for a guided tour, taking in the 4th century Temple of Apollo. There will be a group meal in the site restaurant in the evening.

Day 20
A day at leisure, why not visit the Byzantine monastery at Loukas or relax and admire the stunning views from the campsite pool?

Day 21
Travel to Volos (107 miles) where it is time to relax on the beach. At the innermost point of the Pagasetic Gulf and at the foot of Mount Pelion, Volos is the only outlet towards the sea from Thessaly, the country’s largest agricultural region.

Day 22
Enjoy a guided coach excursion around the Pelion Peninsula, where you can admire the fantastic sea views.

Days 23 - 25
Time to relax on the beach at Volos or explore the local area. There will be a group meal on site on one of the evenings.
3 nights Volos campsite.
Day 26
Travel to Kastraki (103 miles) passing through Kalambaka, home of the Meteora Monasteries.
1 night Kastraki campsite.
Day 27
Coach excursion to visit some of the Meteora Monasteries, one of the largest and most important complexes of Eastern Orthodox Monasteries in Greece. Guide and entry fees included.

Day 28
A day at lesiure to relax on site or perhaps visit some of the other Monasteries.
1 night Igoumenitsa campsite.
Day 29
Travel to Igoumenitsa (130 miles).

Day 30
Take the local short ferry crossing to Corfu and travel the short distance to the campsite.

Day 31
A coach excursion to see some of the highlights of Corfu, including the Achillion Palace built in 1892 and Villa Mon Repos where the Duke of Edinburgh was born. Guide and entry fees included.

Day 32
A day at leisure to relax and enjoy the sun.

Day 33
A boat trip across to Albania for a guided group excursion by coach with lunch included. You will visit Gjrokaster whose old town is a UNESCO protected site. There will be a farewell meal in the evening back at the campsite restaurant.

Day 34
A last day at leisure to enjoy the sun.

Day 35
Travel on the local ferry to Igoumenitsa in the evening. The ferry back to Ancona is currently scheduled to depart at 23.59 and sails overnight.

Day 36
Arrive Ancona 1700. End of tour arrangements.
