Tour itinerary
Day 1
Meet up with your fellow tour members and tour escorts on site in Klein-Rönnau, North Germany (30 miles south of Kiel). 1 night at Klein-Rönnau campsite.
Day 2
Drive to Puttgarden (60 miles) via Fehmarn island for the 45 minute ferry crossing to Rødby in Denmark. Travel onto the campsite in Strøby (76 miles), 36 miles from Copenhagen.

Day 3
Drive to Helsingør (57 miles) for the 20 minute ferry crossing to Helsingborg in Sweden, travel to the campsite in Gränna at the Vättern Lake (168 miles).
1 night at Gränna campsite.
Day 4
Day at leisure in Gränna. Why not visit a local bakery and try some of the peppermint rock ‘polkagris’ that has been produced in Gränna since 1859. Or take the ferry across the water to Visingsö and walk or cycle around this tranquil island to discover its history.

Day 5
Travel to Skärholmen near Stockholm (174 miles).

Day 6
Day excursion to Sweden’s capital Stockholm. There will be a coach tour of this vibrant city and highlights will include the Vasa Museum, home to the only preserved 17th century ship in the world and a visit to the town hall. Lunch is included.

Day 7
Day at leisure in Skärholmen/Stockholm. Public transport runs close to the campsite if you wish to re-visit Stockholm, or you can relax and enjoy a quieter day on site next to the tranquil setting of Lake Mälaren.

Day 8
Travel to Sandarne continuing north through Sweden (168 miles).

Day 9
Travel to Sollefteå (168 miles)

Day 10
Day at leisure in Sollefteå. The centre of Sollefteå is only 400m from the campsite where you can enjoy the cafés, shops and restaurants. Or visit Ragunda and see the Thai pavillion, built to commemorate King Chulalongkorn of Siam’s visit in 1897.

Day 11
Travel to Arvidsjaur, in the centre of the Swedish Sami region (230 miles).

Day 12
Continue north via the Storforsen rapids, northern Europe’s highest untamed rapids, to Luleå (93 miles).

Day 13
Day at leisure in Luleå. Why not visit Gammelstad church town, a UNESCO site where you will find 400 pretty red church cottages surrounding the medieval stone church. It is the most extensive and best preserved example of a church town in Sweden.

Day 14
Today you will travel to Rovaniemi in Finland and cross the Arctic Circle (155 miles). In the late afternoon you will go by coach to the home of Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. Here you will join in a special ceremony to acknowledge crossing the Arctic Circle. In the evening there will be a group meal.

Day 15
Day at leisure in Rovaniemi. Why not visit Arktikum, a fascinating museum and science centre where you can find out all about life in the Arctic north.

Day 16
Continue your drive through Finland to Inari (199 miles).

Day 17
Today there will be a visit to a reindeer farm (own vehicles used) where you will have the opportunity to learn about the life of the Sami people, the indigenous population of this area. More will be learnt about Sami traditions during the visit to the museum in Inari.

Day 18
Day at leisure in Inari. Why not visit the local galleries and boutiques to pick up some authentic Sami textiles or woodwork? Or hike to the Pielpajärvi Wilderness Church, first built in 1646.

Day 19
Travel to Russenes in Norway (155 miles).
1 night at Russenes campsite.
Day 20
Travel to the northernmost campsite of the tour in Honningsvåg (62 miles). In the evening you will go to the North Cape (own vehicles used).
Overnight at Honningsvåg campsite.
Day 21
Day at leisure in Honningsvåg, you may wish to re-visit the North Cape or perhaps take a whale watching cruise. The fjords and waterfalls in the area provide great photo opportunities and the local silversmiths and potteries offer a spot of shopping for holiday keepsakes.

Day 22
Begin the fabulous journey along Norway’s stunning west coast to Øvre-Alta (124 miles). In the evening there will be a group meal in Alta.

Day 23
Day at leisure in Øvre-Alta. Why not visit the World Heritage Rock Art Centre in Alta to find out about the rock drawings from this area which date back some 7000 years. Next to the museum is one of the five open air rock sites in Alta where you can appreciate these drawings in their authentic location.

Day 24
Travel to Skibotn, which is on the south eastern shore of the Lyngen fjord (170 miles).

Day 25
Day excursion by coach to Tromsø. You will visit the fascinating Polar Museum to find out about the history of polar expeditions and there will also be a visit to the stunningly visual Tromsdalen Church otherwise known as The Arctic Cathedral. Lunch is included.

Day 27
Travel by road to Kabelvåg on the Lofoten Islands (265 miles). Steep mountains, crystal seas, fishing and long summer nights – the Lofoten Islands are a highlight of this trip.

Day 28
Day at leisure in Kabelvåg on the Lofoten Islands. Visit the local aquarium, home to some of the marine life of the Nordic seas, where you’ll find not only fish but otters and seals too.

Day 29
Day excursion by coach to explore some of the highlights of the Lofoten islands. You will travel back in time at the Viking museum, visit the fishing village of Nusfjord and finish the day at Henningsvær with its picture postcard harbour where you will have an evening meal.

Days 30 - 31
Days at leisure in the Lofoten Islands. There is so much to do in this magnificent part of Norway. You can take a boat trip where there may be the chance to spot whales and sea eagles. Hiking and kayaking are also recommended, or just taking the time to explore the many villages dotted amongst the stunning scenery.

Day 32
Travel to Fauske (120 miles) via the Lødingen-Bognes ferry crossing (1 hour crossing). Ferry crossing is payable at the port, approximately €105.

Day 33
Day at leisure in Fauske. The campsite is just under two miles from the town of Fauske, which is known for its fine marble. From the site there are trails for hiking, rivers for fishing and scenery to enjoy.

Day 34
Travel to Mosjøen (165 miles). Today you will cross out of the Arctic Circle.

Day 35
Travel to Namsos (155 miles). This area is renowned for its waterfalls, salmon and hangliders.

Day 36
Travel to Malvik (110 miles). Continue to enjoy the fjords, forests, glaciers and mountains.

Day 37
Full day excursion by coach to Trondheim for a city tour including a visit to the Royal Residence, the largest wooden palace in Scandinavia, boasting 140 rooms. You will also visit the Nidaros cathedral which dates back to 1070. Lunch is included.

Day 38
Travel to Åndalsnes (205 miles).
1 night at Åndalsnes campsite.
Days 39 - 41
Days at leisure in Åndalsnes. You can drive along the famous National Tourist Route known as the “Golden Route” to the Geiranger Fjord and marvel at the beautiful landscape and the engineering behind these mountain roads. Or perhaps take a drive to visit the beautiful town and archipelago of Ålesund.

Day 42
Travel to Lillehammer (155 miles), home of the 1994 Winter Olympics.

Day 43
Stay in Lillehammer, Why not drive along the Peer Gynt Road and take in some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Norway? Or if you prefer to stay nearer the site you can relax and enjoy the scenery of the nearby Lake Mjøsa and River Lågen.

Day 44
Travel to Gvarv i Telemark, the last stop in Norway (155 miles). This area is famous for its apples and cherries.

Day 45
Travel to Larvik (99 miles) where you will board the ferry to Hirtshals in Denmark (3 hours 45 minute crossing). It is then just a short drive to the campsite in Aalborg.
1 night at Aalborg campsite.
Day 46
A day at leisure in Aalborg. A path from the campsite takes you to Limfjorden where you can enjoy a lovely view. From here if you wish you can take a small ferry on a short crossing to the tiny island of Egholm with approximately 55 inhabitants. From across the water you can hear the sounds of Aalborg from the little oasis of Egholm. In the evening you will enjoy a group farewell dinner.
