Motorhomes in Canada tend to have automatic transmission and all companies offer one-way rentals (charges apply).

Because of the nature of Canadian roads, the rental companies do not allow you to drive on certain roads. The restrictions will be explained in more detail when you collect your motorhome.

Canada is a big country with big roads so we recommend you opt for the biggest motorhome that you can afford, especially if you are enjoying a longer trip.

Carefree’s Canada motorhome rental partners

Carefree has teamed up with three motorhome hire companies in Canada:

Cruise Canada has depots in Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and Whitehorse. With entry level prices, it offers three types of vehicle. The compact vehicle is 19ft and designed especially for the European market. Smaller than the average RV, it is designed to accommodate three people. Cruise Canada also offers standard models between 23ft and 25ft long, and large models between 28ft and 30ft long. The company does not offer airport transfers.

Fraserway has depots in Vancouver, Calgary, Whitehorse, Toronto and Halifax, and prides itself on the quality of its vehicles and its high service levels. The company offers a range of vehicles, starting with a truck camper, which is a pick-up truck with a camping unit attached that includes toilet and shower. It has a range of traditional RVs, with a van conversion at entry level and a range of 20ft, 22ft, 24ft and 29ft vehicles. Fraserway includes airport transfers in the rental price.

Westcoast Mountain Campers is a smaller family business with depots in Calgary and Vancouver. It offers a range of vehicles starting with a truck camper, with van conversions and various sizes of traditional RVs. Transfers are offered to airports and to downtown hotels.
