Kruger and the Battlefields
Day 1 - 2
Fly to Johannesburg, pick up your motorhome and travel to Pretoria for your first overnight stay.
Take the Long Tom Pass, famous for battles between the British and the Boers, to Sabie.
From Sabie visit the Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, the Graskop waterfalls and the Sudwala Caves on your way to Blydeport.
Make a trip to see the Three Rondawels on your way to Skukuza rest camp in Kruger National Park.
Take a leisurely drive through Kruger and keep your eyes peeled for the Big Five as you head to Satara rest camp.
Continue south through the park to Berg en Dal rest camp. Why not get up early, head for a watering hole for breakfast and let the animals come to you?
Leave Kruger and cross the border into Swaziland and Mlilwane wildlife centre to spend the evening.
Days 9 - 10
Back into South Africa and head for Hluhluwe with time to explore the wetlands of St Lucia.
Especially for the history buffs, head into the battlefields area where Dundee is a great place to visit Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana.
Head up into the mountains and the Royal Natal National Park.
A short but spectacular drive in the Drakensburg Mountains – do not miss the Amphitheatre or the Tugela Falls on your way into the Golden Gate National Park.
Travel back to Johannesburg to return your motorhome and catch the evening flight back to London.
