Leg 3: Cardigan Bay to Rhandirmwyn

cardigan bay to rhandirmwyn

Cardigan BayOn the third leg of your holiday, you will travel inland from Cardigan Bay to Rhandirmwyn, leaving the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park behind to enter into the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside.

This leg of the tour is approximately 40 miles long and takes around 5 hours and 15 minutes to complete. With various legends linking the mythical magician ‘Merlin’ to Carmarthen and the surrounding area, step back in time as you cycle through ancient landscapes and quiet country tracks that have probably remained unchanged for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

The route passes forestry commission woodland, and if time allows, why not stop off and enjoy these secluded, ancient forests, taking some Rhandirmwyntime to breathe in the clean, fresh air, and imagine what life used to be like for the ancient people who lived there.

There are a number of pubs and cafes that you could stop at during this leg of the tour, and the quaint Welsh villages along the way are well worth exploring while you are cycling through.

Full step-by-step instructions of the route can be downloaded below and the map above illustrates the route you will be taking on the third day of your holiday.
