Blackpool Tower is one of the most iconic buildings in the UK and has been a beacon for holiday makers across the country although a ship did once mistake it for a lighthouse. It is based on the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Some 518 feet tall it provides exceptional views of Blackpool and beyond. The 2013 television series ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ was filmed in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Well worth a look.
