One of the first preserved heritage lines in the country, the Bluebell Railway has one of the finest collections of vintage steam trains and carriages from British Railways.
In August 1960, the Bluebell Railway commenced train services. Today, it runs trains on a 22 mile return trip between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead.
The Bluebell Railway is popular with film and television productions and Horsted Keynes has been used as a filming location in Downton Abbey, Muppets Most Wanted and Churchill's Secret.
