Nestled in a wonderful wooded valley by the River Dart, Buckfast Abbey is one of a few remaining Benedictine monasteries left in modern Britain and dates back to 1907 although the original site harks back to around 1018.

Buckfast Abbey is renowned for its bee keeping and a locally produced ‘tonic’ wine made from mistellas imported from France.
