Hertford Castle Gatehouse is a Grade I listed building steeped in history dating from the mid 15th century.

Queen Elizabeth I spent lots of her childhood here, in the castle which was a royal palace for over 300 years.

All that's left today is the Castle Gatehouse, set in secluded grounds, hidden from view by the surrounding 12 century flint and stone wall.
