Visiting Nine Ladies Stone Circle

Situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the Nine Ladies is a small, early Bronze Age formation.

The stones are believed to depict nine ladies turned to stone as punishment for dancing on a Sunday.

It is the most famous stone circle of the four that can be found on Stanton Moor.

The site is accessible via a 700-metre walk from the nearest road.

The route passes through fields and woodland, making it an ideal location to walk your dog.

Our Bakewell Club Site is a short journey to Nine Ladies, making it a perfect base from which to explore the local prehistoric sites and the surrounding Peak District.

This small, early Bronze Age stone circle is an ideal location for a weekend walk.
