If you’re thinking of heading to Caravan and Motorhome in EventCity Manchester this weekend there’s plenty to see, mainly in the form of caravans and motorhomes. But here are three of the more unusual things you might like to check out:
Moto-Trek challenges the caravan market
Moto-trek may be best known for its motorhomes in our industry, but its heritage is in horseboxes. Sister company Equi-Trek is the largest producer of horseboxes and trailers in the UK and has been selling the Trek-Away caravan into its equine market for some time. Originally designed as accommodation for grooms who were accompanying their charges to events, the tiny caravan comes in two-berth form, with bunk beds or a double bed.
The Trek-Away on display in Manchester is a bunk-bed version with all mod cons, including a washroom and even a first aid kit. At its most basic, however, it has a maximum authorised mass (MTPLM) of 750kg so can be towed by anyone with a B-class driving licence with pretty much any car and comes in at under £10,000.
Emove Finding Level
Emove is a relatively new entrant into the caravan mover marketplace and it’s launching a new product that combines a traditional caravan mover with a levelling system, the Finding Level. All you have to do is indicate the caravan’s direction of travel using the remote control and the system does the rest. It’s unlikely to be a cheap product – prices are quoted at around £2,000 – but it could make life much easier on the campsite.
Awnings for dogs
Camptech isn’t just about providing awnings for your caravan or motorhome – it’s now branched out into pet accommodation. You can choose one of these neat little tents for your dog to match your own Camptech awning.
It’s not available on the company’s website at the moment so you’ll need to visit the show to be sure to get one. The traditional-poled style is on offer at £59.99 with the inflatable-tube-style version coming in at £49.99 until Sunday.
