Send us your newsletters and more

For many years many of the Club’s District Associations and Special Interest Sections have worked extremely hard to pool their creative talents to produce a monthly or quarterly newsletter for their members, whether they be in print or digital format.

These newsletters serve a welcome and extremely useful communication between social campers informing DA and special Interest Section members of their group’s upcoming meets and events, celebrations and anniversaries and much, much more.

DA and group secretaries have regularly sent a copy of these newsletter to the magazine team at Greenfields House and we would ask, in these times of restricted travel – while our Club Sites, Certificated Sites, Camping in the Forest Sites and Social Camping Meets and Temporary Holiday Sites are closed – that you continue to do so.

In normal circumstances, this enables the magazine team to keep up to date with what your groups are doing and send one of the team along to join and report on some of these great social events. We also very much enjoy reading about what you all get up to out in the field.

And all this hard work doesn’t go unrecognised. Camping is, of course, on hold for now, but we can draw on the positives. Judging is still open for the 2020 winner of the Burnham Trophy, which celebrates the best District Association or Special Interest Section newsletters.

Does your DA or Special Interest Section deserve to win the trophy this year? If you haven’t already send us your District Association or Special Interest Section newsletter there’s still time. We’re looking to forward to hearing from you and reading your copy.

And don’t forget, we’re always on the look-out for great images and stories of social camping. Whether this is from previous Meets, events and Temporary Holiday Sites that you now have a little more time on your hands to sift through and share, or whether you’re coming up with creative ways of staying in touch with other members during these times of restricted travel – maybe garden camping via conference calls – we’d love to share them with other members in our pages, and to promote these wonderful member exclusive events. Keep sending in your stories, pictures and captions – we love to seem them.
