Camping in Penzance means you’ll never be short of a new view to take in or a coastal path to explore. We’ve listed some of our top attractions in and around Penzance below.
1. The harbour and promenade in Penzance are wonderful areas to explore. Walk the promenade for superb coastal views of Mounts Bay and Newlyn.
2. The Land’s End peninsular is the most westerly point in England. There are plenty of tourist landmarks including the iconic signpost to enjoy.
3. Walkers will be in their element with the South West Coast Path offering spectacular scenery, opportunities for wildlife spotting and so much more.
4. Another way to enjoy the Cornish coast is via a boat. There are several wildlife spotting boat tours available where you’ll get to look for grey seals, dolphins, gannets and even basking sharks.
5. The Isle of Scilly can be reached via boat, it’ll take just under 3 hours by ferry to reach the cluster of islands. There are 140 islands altogether although only a few are inhabited.
6. Sandy beaches are one of the highlights for anyone camping in Cornwall and in Penzance you’ll have plenty of options to choose between. From our Sennen Cove Club Site it’s a 25 minute walk to Gwynver Beach which is just north of Sennen Cove itself. Other sandy beaches in Penzance include Longrock Beach and Marazion Beach.
7. During the warmer months, it’s worth checking what’s on at Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre looking out over the sea. You can also book tours to learn more about the theatres fascinating past.
8. A little further afield, but well worth the trip, you’ll find St Micharl’s Mount off the coast of Marazion. There you’ll find a historic castle sitting atop the tidal island, connected by a cobbled causeway. From subtropical gardens to fascinating artefacts inside the castle, this is a great place to spend the day.
