Overview
Welcome to our site close to J44 M6. We have panoramic views with the Lakeland Fells to the south and the Pennines to the east. An ever changing vista from the comfort of your van. We are off the main roads, quiet, dark with only the sounds of the wildlife, sheep and cattle. Wake up ready for trips to the Lake District, the Borders, Hadrian’s Wall, the Solway Aviation Museum and the excellent motorbike museum. Fuel and supermarket shopping is at J44, and market town shopping and Coop close by at Brampton. Local eateries include Skitby House and The Sally at Irthington. On site we have a shower, toilet block with water and electric on every pitch. The site is easily accessible to the larger motorhome with no difficult turns. Try out our 300m long quiet dog walk or be more adventurous on the local roads to Scaleby Church or Scaleby Castle. This is a great stop over for a night or two or a longer stay. We can arrange groups to pitch together upon notice. Bikes and motor bikes welcome to our dog friendly site. We don’t forget our campers who can pitch up with or without electric.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
