Overview
Crabbs Bluntshay is a 65 acre working farm with beef animals, suckler cows, sheep and geese, and three small orchards situated in the beautiful area of the Marshwood Vale in West Dorset. We have a cabin with 3 toilets, 2 showers, 2 hand basins and kitchen area for washing up. Two fire pits are available to campers with free kindling. There are 8 electrical hook-ups.WiFi is available. Visiting children are encouraged to participate with helping to look after the geese, and in late spring and early autumn, if the cows and sheep are indoors, children will be able to stroke them. Some summer fruits and preserves are available to buy at the farm. Apples are for sale from the end of September.
There are two local pubs nearby. The Shave Cross Inn is 13th century and serves traditional English food. The Five Bells Inn has a good selection of food.
The local Jurassic Coast namely, West Bay and Charmouth, is less than 8 miles away, with historic Lyme Regis only 12 miles away. Charmouth is a good beach for children and fossil hunting.
Bridport is the nearest country town for general shopping with 5 supermarkets and 2 petrol stations, and a mixture of smaller utility shops
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
