Overview
A secluded campsite in rural Essex, near both the coast and the city.
Our pretty Kelvedon Hatch Club campsite in the heart of leafy Essex serves those campers seeking the excitement and attractions of the capital as well as those looking for a relaxing break on the Essex coast.
This 90-pitch campsite is secluded and peaceful and has a really rural feel. All forms of camping is catered for here with a range of facilities including a parent and child room, children’s play area and an excellent dog walk.
The pretty village of Kelvedon Hatch, best known for its once-secret nuclear bunker, now a museum, is close by. Also close is Brentwood, with Mountnessing Windmill, a restored, working post mill and Old MacDonald’s Farm, a leisure park aimed at kids. You can also catch a train from the town to London – buses to the station stop half a mile from site with trains leaving every 10 minutes to the city.
For some beach action, head to Southend. Three Shells, the town’s most central beach, offers easy access to Adventure Island, the Pier and numerous shops, cafes and amusements. Also try the Blue Flag, dog-friendly Canvey Island Beach in the Thames Estuary and the Blue Flag Sandy Shoebury East and Shoeburyness Beaches.
