Overview
Located five minutes from Junction 13, M5 yet in a quiet, rural location surrounded by arable fields with views of the Cotswold Hills. The site is suitable for both caravans and motorhomes and access from the A38 is level and easy. The site is secure and ideal for both short and longer stays. There is a spacious, level grass field with ample electric hook-ups and a small area of hard-standing. Toilets are available. The pub in the village serves good food and is within walking distance. There is a Tesco in Cam and a well-equipped camping shop, garden centre, pub and several take-aways in Whitminster.
The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge is nearby. Both the Stroudwater and the Gloucester to Sharpness canals and marina at Saul Junction are easily accessed and provide lovely walking and cycling opportunities. Other interesting attractions include Berkeley Castle, the Jenner Museum, the Tyndale Monument, the Purton Hulks, Westonbirt Arboretum and Woodchester Mansion.
There is a regular bus service (bus stop opposite the farm entrance) into Gloucester where you can visit the Cathedral, the Docks and Designer Outlet.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
