Whether you’re keen on staying close to your chosen campsite or travelling further afield to explore more of what Lincolnshire has to offer, you won’t be short of things to do during your holiday. Here are some of the top attractions and things to see in Woodhall Spa.
1. Explore local towns and villages near Woodhall Spa
The village of Woodhall Spa itself is within walking distance of our Club Site and has a few places to eat if you don’t fancy travelling further. The unique Kinema in the Woods is an historic cinema in the same village worth a visit during your stay, with regular screenings of new releases.
Spilsby, Horncastle, Louth and Market Rasen are other towns nearby worth exploring.
2. Tattershall Castle
The National Trusts Tattershall Castle is a striking, brick built castle dating back to the 15th century. The well-kept grounds make for a lovely walk or a picnic. This is also a great place to pick up a book if you’ve forgotten yours with a second-hand bookshop with the surroundings of the medieval Guardhouse.
3. Lincoln Aviation Heritage Centre
Based on a 1940's RAF Lancaster Bomber Airfield, the Lincoln Aviation Heritage Centre makes a wonderful family day out.
4. Lincoln Cathedral
Head to the city of Lincoln for a day away from the campsite where you can explore the popular Lincoln Cathedral. Towering above the city, it’s hard to miss and makes for a fascinating visit at any time of year.
5. Lincolnshire Wolds
An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lincolnshire Wolds, with its rolling hills, hidden valleys and villages is a wonderful part of the UK countryside to explore. Our Woodhall Spa Club Site is just on the southern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, giving you the chance to explore the AONB during your visit.
6. Skegness
Head to Skegness for a day out at one of the most popular seaside resorts in the UK. Take a walk along the beach, enjoy local attractions like the Natureland Seal Sanctuary and experience beautiful views of the Lincolnshire coast from the pier.
7. Battle of Britain Air Museum at RAF Coningsby
Book onto a tour of RAF Coningsby to see historic aircraft which are still used in flypasts today. Six spitfires, two hurricanes and the Lancaster PA474 are just a few of the aircrafts you could see during your visit. This is a great way to explore Lincolnshire’s impressive aviation heritage.
