The Broads

Norfolk is well known for its man-made Broads that cover over 300 square miles of East Anglian countryside. They comprise of rivers, lakes, and stunning wildlife that can be appreciated all year round.

While camping in Norfolk, you can climb aboard a boat, hop on a bike or put on your walking boots and navigate the meandering rivers and glimmering lakes. Perhaps even pack a lunch, find a comfortable spot to sit on the riverbank, and enjoy your food whilst watching boats float past.

Sandringham House

Since 1977, visitors have been allowed to enter the late Queen's magnificent private estate, Sandringham House. The house has been home to four generations of British monarchs, and with over 60 acres of gardens, and 600 acres of woodland, it's no surprise that Sandringham House is the Royal Family's favourite country retreat.

Norfolk Coast Path

Running from west to east, from Hunstanton to Sea Palling, the Norfolk Coast Path explores the uncovered beauty and drama of Norfolk's coastal landscape. Stretching for over 129 miles through the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the path passes panoramic beaches, rugged cliffs, a diverse collection of wildlife, and our spacious West Runton Club Site.

North Norfolk Railway

If you don't fancy walking or driving along the coastline, hop onto the North Norfolk Railway.

Also known as The Poppy Line, the railway journeys for ten miles between seaside Sheringham and the market town of Holt. Dogs are welcome, and drivers can park at any three of the following stops; Sheringham, Weybourne and Holt.

If you're feeling peckish, you'll find catering facilities at each of the station stops, and depending on the time of year, a real ale bar will operate on the train itself, also selling hot drinks and refreshments.

Sheringham Park

Situated close to the quaint village of Upper Sheringham, Sheringham Park is a landscape park and woodland garden offering a fantastic day out for the whole family. Explore the park's vast collection of rhododendrons and azaleas and climb to the top of the towers to experience breathtaking views of the Norfolk coastline.

BeWILDerwood

If you're looking for a family fun activity to do while camping in Norfolk, BeWilderwood makes for a great day out. It's only a short drive from our Norwich Club Site, and you and your family can enjoy climbing up treehouses, walking on rope bridges, and zip wiring. You can either take a packed lunch or grab something to eat at one of BeWilderwood's locally-sourced eateries.

Holkham Hall

Whilst camping in Norfolk, another wonderful historical escape is Holkham Hall. It's surrounded by 3,000 acres of scenic parkland rich with wildlife. You can take a leisurely stroll through the 18th-century country house that displays a diverse collection of art, including paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck and Gainsborough.

St Benet’s Abbey

Take a trip to the rocky ruins of St Benet's Abbey and soak up the local area's fascinating history. More than 1,000 years ago, this isolated spot on the River Bure was a thriving and important monastery.

Snettisham Park

The best thing about camping in Norfolk is being close to nature. Snettisham Park is a working farm that consists of 329 acres of stunning farmland. If you're looking for a fun day out while camping, this farm and its surrounding area can be great to explore. On a typical day, you can travel through a deer safari, or witness lambs being born. You can also get involved in feeding the lambs, collecting fresh eggs, and more.

RSPB Snettisham Nature Reserve

Just a 10-minute drive away from Snettisham Park is RSPB Snettisham Nature Reserve. This diverse nature reserve consists of various coastal habitats, including lagoons, pebble beaches, tidal mudflats, and salt marshes.

If you love birdwatching on your camping trips, this nature reserve has its fair share of spectacular birds. Keep an eye out for avocets, godwits, knots and shelducks.

Cromer Pier

No camping trip is complete without fishing. The award-winning Victorian Cromer Pier is famous for crabbing. All you have to do is grab some crab fishing gear from the local shop and drop a line over the edge of the pier.

For those who want to do something a little different, the pier also has a bar, restaurant, theatre, and gift shop. If you're looking for some fun entertainment, you can also book tickets for the famous Cromer Pier Show, which provides an evening of family-friendly entertainment.

Banham Zoo

Muckleburgh Military Collection

For campers that love a bit of history, why not visit one of the UK's largest private collections of military artefacts on the former Royal Artillery Anti-Aircraft training camp at Weybourne? At the Muckleburgh Military Collection, you'll find wartime tanks, armoured vehicles, guns and weapons, a collection of uniforms, and old photographs.

Not only can you browse the museum and its artefacts, but you can also drive tanks, go on a military lorry ride, enjoy the onsite cafe and store and have a lovely picnic while the little ones play around the play area.
