Overview
Prospect Farm surrounded by arable farmland is peacefully located on the edge of the popular village of Dunnington. In the village you will find a children’s play area, shops including a pub with restaurant, a sports bar, cafe, bakers etc. The picturesque Hagg Wood in Dunnington offers peaceful woodland walking trails with lots of interesting flora, fauna and wildlife. Approx 5 miles away is the historic city of York home to the awesome Minster – yorkminster.org, Jorvik Viking Centre – www.jorvikvikingcentre.co.uk , breathtaking scenery and a fine selection of quaint shops and cafes. York is easily accessed by the park and ride which is approx 2 miles away. Nearby is the village of Elvington, where you can visit the Yorkshire Air Museum on the site of former RAF Elvington a World War II airfield – a fabulous day out for all -yorkshireairmuseum.org. York Maze also makes a great day out throughout summer – www.yorkmaze.com
Historic Stamford Bridge is a short drive or a scenic cycle ride from here. For the more adventurous we are situated adjacent to the Minster Way – a route connecting Beverley Minster with York Minster. At the end of the day, you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operate under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents*, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family-friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
*Tents are not permitted on the majority of CS sites in Scotland
