Lunar Caravans in administration
Preston-based Lunar Caravans Ltd appointed Administrators on Tuesday 16 July, who are looking for a buyer for the business.
The press launch for 2020 caravan and motorhome models, scheduled for 9 July, was postponed and production has been suspended for new season caravans and motorhomes. Most members of the production staff have been laid off.
Joint Administrator Dave Acland from FRP Advisory LLP said: “The UK staycation market remains strong and our focus is now on seeking a buyer for the business and its assets. We would encourage any interested parties to contact the joint administrators as soon as possible.”
If you already own a Lunar caravan or motorhome and it develops a fault, a spokesperson for the Joint Administrators has said “Customers should contact their dealer regarding product faults in the first instance”. Similarly, if you have put down a deposit on a tourer you should contact your dealer for more information.
Any Lunar caravans or motorhomes that were returned to the factory for remedial work will be returned to their owners, but we are told “The position regarding warranties is currently under review and the Joint Administrators will provide an update in due course.”
Lunar’s name was inspired by the Apollo 11 mission to land men on the moon, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this week.
Anyone interested buying the company is asked to contact FRP Advisory on 0161 833 3344.
We will update this news story as further information arrives.
