Hares Leap at Hirds Farm House, near Louth in Lincolnshire, has won this year’s Best Certificated Site (CS) award, seeing off competition from more than 1,300 other CSs across the UK.
CSs are small, privately run campsites that can pitch up to five caravans or motorhomes and ten tents at any one time. Throughout 2020, Club members nominated their favourite CS across five categories – Best Friendly Welcome, Best Hideaway, Best New Site, Best Facilities, and Best CS for Families.
Hares Leap is nestled in an organic smallholding of about ten acres on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It’s a ‘Hideaway’ adults-only site with hardstanding and electric plus super service pitches, with water tap and waste point.
Site owners Adrian and Jacqueline Parris moved to Hirds Farm from Sussex 18 years ago. Jacqueline said: “I’d like to thank all of my visitors who took the time to make a nomination on behalf of the site. We have developed the site as an extension of our own home and want people to enjoy the surroundings, including our rare breed Soay sheep, free-range chickens and our conservation native tree plantation.”
All of the pitches on site have lovely views of the nearby Wolds and Fotherby Top while Louth, the gateway to the Wolds, is only a short drive away.
